I've only ever been to WDW in the summer months ... can anyone tell me what the weather is typically like in October? We are looking to go to WDW 10/11-10/16. Thanks!

We LOVE going to the World in October!!!

The days are warm but not blistering hot - perfect for swimming or going to the parks. The nights are cool but not too cold - a sweatshirt with shorts is all you need to be comfortable.

Kim&Chris: What WDW resort did you like the best? I saw on your reply post that you stayed at a few different resorts. I've only been to Grand Floridian, All Star Sports and All Star Movies.

October can be perfect weather wise or it can be hot. It's hard to tell exactly as we can also get an "Indian summer" if you will. October is usually a wonderful month and one of my favorites down here in Florida. Of course, October 2004 was one for the record books and hopefully we don't see anything remotely like that this year!

The latest I ever went was September and I saw the schedule was going to change the next week (into October) and I was surprised how early the parks and other things were going to close and the fireworks were not going to be every night so I decided I did not have a desire to go to WDW in October. Also when I have gone September and August I always worried about Hurricanes and I know this year is expected to be worse than last year.

I love going in June and July. Every thing is usually out of rehab. Things are open late. Temp is warm but with the midday short rain storm the clouds cool it off and nights are great. Never had a problem with a line even on 4th of July week. Longest we have ever waited for a ride was 15 minutes but we are good about how we schedule where to go. Many things we got right onto. Never understood why people don’t like WDW in the summer. Everyone I have talked to that goes when we do love it. I would like to try Christmas sometime.

Just another opinion. I am sure many love going in October but for me it would be a time I would avoid.

Our favorite resort is the Polynesian. It was our best Disney vacation to date....we were supposed to stay at CBR but due to a refurbishment, we were given a room at the Poly for almost the same price. To make it even better, we attended MVMCP (wow!) and the Candlelight Processional (very emotional and beautiful). It was pure Disney magic at its best! Truly a vacation we'll never forget.

A close 2nd is probably OKW. It's a beautiful, relaxing resort with the best restaurant on Disney property (Olivia's). I love to shop and OKW is a stone's throw from the Disney Marketplace.

But truthfully, any Disney resort is going to be great. No matter if you stay at one of the All Stars, or at the Grand Floridian, you're sure to have a wonderful, magical vacation! :)

Everytime I have gone to Disney World, it was in June, which is great! One time was in March. I am going this year (staying at the Poly) October 22-29, so I am hoping that the weather is good! From what I have heard, October is a great time to go - great weather, low crowds. And I'm so excited about the 'Not So Scary Halloween Party'! I'm SO looking forward to it! ::MickeyMo

we camped at Fort Wilderness last Oct,(we have a travel trailer) the ac was on all the time.. the temp was in the 90º's that week.. whew! :sunny:
We did have several spotty rain storms, it felt like July! Most of the Cm's had told us it was "unusually warm"

The MNSSHP was great!! The Food and Wine festival was great too

we are going back this year in October for 6 nights we can't wait! :cool1:

We used to go to WDW in middle June and August for the extended hours but the heat is terrible. That was 20 years ago and the last 5 years, we go either October, December or May. Weather is great, can hit a cold spell but haven't yet. This year, October 13-23 at the Poly again. Really like the October time, its fall in the north and traveling south is great, we go by Amtrak the kids are back in school and the parks seem cleaner, less crowded and the air crisp and fresh with the coming of Florida winter. Seems less hectic and its easy to get around, but it also seems that other WDW guests are finding this time of year great also, the summers are way too crowded and really super hot but the first week of December is like going in February, hardly no one, everyone is waiting to go at Xmas time and the Xmas decorations are the best anywhere and are up through November till after Xmas.
