Hi,

We are headed to Disneyworld in October. We have been multiple times, but always in the heat of the summer.

Can anyone tell me how the weather is down there in October? Is it pretty much shorts all day or is it shorts in the day pants at night?

Traveling with a 6 year old and 2 year old, so want to try to pack as little as possible :rotfl:

Also, does it rain as much as it does in the summer months? Deciding if a rain shield for the stroller is needed as much...

Any info would be great. Thanks!

Last year we went the first 2 weeks of October. It was at least 90 every day and very humid! There wasn't much rain. I remember just a little rain on 2 nights. We always go in October and have always worn shorts & tank tops. Still very warm. But that's just my experience.

We will be going down in October as well. From waht I have heard it is mid 80's most days. Shorts and t shirt should be ok. But I would guess that it might drop a bit at night. I would suggest a sweatshirt for night time!

I know in 2010 I went down in Feb. It was in teh 60's and 70's and all the natives were walking around in winter coats. We had jeans and hoodies! It was like fall back home!

At the beginning of October (sometime in the first two weeks) 2011 it rained all day for 2 days. Still wore capris and a T-shirt and rain poncho.

They definitely were not use to it raining like that as all the CM's seemed shocked and kept commenting on it. Not a huge deal for us since we are use to the rain.

Oct can be a very rainy month and it can also be the beginning of cooler nights. So ponchos and a sweatshirt or light weight jacket is good just in case. Each yr is unpredictable. We usually get cooler weather closer to halloween but we have had yrs when it came sooner.

We spent two weeks the end of October for our honeymoon. Definitely ok with shorts, cotton tops, or dresses. Some days were hotter than others - probably like high 80s. Not much rain. I've been in September before and there was loads more rain then October

I was there last October as well- I did not have the weather from the PP. one day it was 45 degrees while waiting for the morning bus. We wore long sleeve shirts for nearly the whole trip. I would def be prepared with some layers for the kids. There was a family standing at the bus stop freezing in t-shirts. Actually we were quite cold as well, but not freezing...

Weather can be all over the place in October. One trip a few years back I arrived to record heat, and a few days later was buying a fleece jacket to try and stay warm.

The best bet is to watch the weather for a week before you go. October can be hot as the dickins, or very cold. And sometimes both over a few days.

Must have been the year we were here too, for several days it was record heat near 100*, the day before we left the temp dropped. It was 45* I forgot my jacket and had no long sleeves. I was freezing but glad the kids had warm things to wear.

The projection for Fall in the south on Weather channel is calling for below normal temps. We are neither in a El Niño noe La Niña cycle, just middle area so driving force of either.
I am planning on capris, two long sleeve and a jacket in case. I know last week was crazy hot and heavy downpour/thunderstorm at times. Mostly just passing.

All depends on when in October you plan on visiting. First 2 weeks normally are hot and humid but sometime near mid October the humidity begins to drop making the temperatures more enjoyable.

What he said!

We got in Oct almost every year.
For the most part it is still warm and we wear shorts and Ts.

Last year, we experienced the 1000% humidity like PP. The air was like pea soup.

Then a few years ago (maybe 5 or 6) it was record breaking lows and we had to go buy clothes.

So, yes, it can be all over the place.

You can look up the average temperatures for any particular date online. I looked up our dates and it looks like the average high is about 80, but cooler in the morning and evening.

Like PP said, I am going to hold off on packing clothing until a few days before so I can look at the forecast. It's an unpredictable time of year.

I didn't order a rain cover for my stroller, but I think I am going to add one... just in case.

We were there the last week in oct in 2011 and we had great weather. Only one rain day (and half a day at that). We wore shorts and tshirts with sweatshirts in the early am and later in the evening. Loved it.

Going this year Oct 20th and fingers crossed for something similar. :-)

So we are there in just a couple of days. Looks like it is calling for some rain. Should we expect that to mean rain constantly or just showers here and there.

Some people have told us it rains every day at 3

It usually doesn't rain all day.
The weather on my iphone shows thunderstorms everyday for next week.
I'm not too worried.
I'm more worried about the heat and humidity as I am 6 months pregnant.

Agree with this.
