weather in new york,at the minute

hope someone can help.we visit new york,next thurs,for a few days on our way to florida & i would really love to know,what clothes to pack,for our grandaughter.
i know i can look,on weather sites,but someone,with first hand knowledge,of the climate,would be great.
i know,when we went to san francisco,the weather was glorious,but as soon,as we went out into the bay,on the boat,it was freezing.will this be the same,when we go over to the statue of liberty?

It depends on where in NY you are going its a big state with vastly different climate, Yest lake placid had snow

Well, I assume NYC, since you mentioned the statue (although it's technically in NJ ). I just came back from a soccer game, and was comfortable in pants, tshirt, and sweatshirt. The ferry to the statue has indoor and outdoor seating - she will need a sweatshirt for outside seating. This time of year, layers are best.

I use AOL weather, which I find to be the most accurate for me on Long Island. I changed the zip code to 10001, which is the Penn Station area in Manhattan, and it says lows of 46, highs of 60 for this Thursday and Friday.

Mostly, I am wearing hooded sweatshirts these days, over long sleeve shirts. Hubby wore his winter Yankee jacket last night, and I wore my raincoat with a hood. It is windy and 55 now. Some rain predicted through Wednesday. Thursday and Friday look clear. Enjoy!

Layers layers and more layers- this week we had temps in the 70's as well as in the 50's. My kids have been wearing mid weight jackets this week. I would assume next as well. I would bring a rain coat too. Have fun. The ferry isn't much colder than the other areas(I have been on that San Fran ferry and it's nothing like that.) This is a smaller water area- surrouned by buildings.

We just got in from a local fair and it is COLD! I was wearing 2 sweatshirts and was still very cold. Right now it is very very windy out too so that is not helping the coldness!
