Weather in May

Sorry should have posted this question with my other discount question. We're debating between disneyworld(been there numerous times) vs disneyland this May. If disneyland, thinking to combine LA, disneyland & San diego. However pool & beach time are important(with 5 yr old kiddo) but from what I'm reading May is not a good time(something about May gloom etc in san diego) & the high temps being 70's. For those of you experienced with weather in CA, could you please offer some guidance about the weather in May & if pool/beach is doable(& comfortable)? This might make or break our decision between going back to disneyworld vs trying out something new Thank you.

Well, SoCal beaches are rarely "comfortable". Unless you find 65-70 degree F ocean water comfortable.

For me May is usually a little too chilly and June-Aug (maybe Sept) is chilly but doable.

For pools May would usually be fine.

Our first DL trip was over last Memorial Day, so the end of May. While there were plenty of people in the pool, we thought it was way too chilly. Then again, we're in Phoenix, so we're used to quite a bit more heat in general.
