can anyone tell me what to expect ,normally i have been end of october and we have also been whitsun,is it noticebly hotterand are the crowds a lot worse..thanks :cool1:

We normally go in February.

It was a lot hotter and humid in July but not unbearably so, we had a fantastic time.

Line times were fine provided you got to the parks 30 minutes before opening and went on the quieter days. For the first couple of hours they were walk ons, or had waits of 10-20 minutes. After 11 the crowds built up but by then we had done all we wanted to do in the park and used Fast Passes for water rides which are extremely popular. I was expecting huge lines but there were no different to when I had been in February.

It is very hot and humid with rain showers, usually in the afternoon/evening.

Crowds are obviously bigger than October, especially while the American schools are on holidays and really big around the 4th July holiday.

Last 2 weeks of August the crowds reduce (and the opening hours start to drop) but the weather is still very hot and humid.

Buy 'The Brits Guide to Orlando' full of good tips but wait for the the 2006 issue which is out later this year. There is also a page devoted to quieter, average and busy days to visit parks. Simon has published an update to his book at www.askdaisy.net, click on the book then look under park updates. :)

Hiya

We went on the 28th July for two weeks this year.

The heat was intense but there was ALWAYS a storm to break it up and so long as you keep drinking and using A/C attractions it shouldnt get too much.

I didnt really see a difference in attendance from day to day but as the US school kids started going back early augh it certainly quietened down alot the second week.

We had a few days were we would get to the parks at opening with a plan and each time we had done all of our must do's in a couple of hours.

We have just returned and the weather was in the 90s each day.
Rainfall every day but lots of humid, hot sunshine too.

Crowds light as the US schools had returned.

July I believe is even hotter.

To be honest unless school hours mean you have to go July/August I would avoid, although we are frequent visitors and like the nice weather walking around for a lengthy period of time in 90 degree heat can be hard work.

thanks all i think we are going to need a lot of sun block, how long does it normally rain for.

Normally they are heavy showers that can last for half an hour or sometimes even more.
You can generally tell when they are coming though through the cloud build up.
It is quite natural to get a daily deluge every afternoon or early evening, to be honest I think the rainfall is the least of the problem, it's the heat you need to be wary of.

How long is a piece of string? We went in July and were expecting loads of rain every day surprisingly we hardly had any. The only time in the whole fortnight that we had a sustained downfall was for about a hour one Sunday. We saw a couple of showers that lasted 10 minutes or so and that was about it.

We were surprised to feel that we actually wanted it to rain so we could cool down a bit by getting soaked. It was extremely hot and the rain would have been welcomed.

However, we have only been the once in July so I don't believe this weather is typical after reading loads of posts about summer weather. I wouldn't worry about the rain at all.

We bought some excellent suncream called Panama Jack 30 Swim and Surf. It protected us all day and we didn't burn at all, fantastic stuff. I bought it whilst in Sea World.

Hi
We are also going next July and I'm still trying to find out when the US school summer holidays are- does anyone know please?
thanks

We went in July this year and are also going in July next year. We do go in July due to school holidays and my husbands job and have over the years also travelled in October. Okay it is hotter and more humid than October but we managed just fine. Make sure you drink plenty of water and put on a high sun factor cream and you will be just fine. I didn't find the parks any different to be honest. Epcot was great only queues were at the really new rides but then you could always get fastpasses for these . To be honest I find MK busy no matter what time of the we go. If you find it to hot then why not go into the parks later on in the day and then spend the evening there when it is cooler and finish off with the fireworks. You will have a fab time .

and............... it didn't rain all that much when we were there. :sunny:
