I'm trying to decide if my family should take a DW Trip during the Easter/Spring break in 2012...which will be during the week of April 8th 2012. Given that one of the main things that my wife likes to do with the kids is to go swimming when we go to DW....I'm trying to figure out if the weather will likely be warm enough in early April.

As it is roughly 2 weeks away from April 2011, I was able to check to see that the current Orlando area weather is a balmy 80+ degree F. Checking the historical weather for April 2010 ( from last year ), it lookes like it would be low to mid 80s.

For those that have travelled to DW during Spring Break in April....is it safe to assume that the weather in early April is warm enough to go swimming in DW?

One more thing...is Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach open in April as well?

I think you kinda answered that yourself :goodvibes Sounds like low 80's is good swimming weather to me!

I think both water parks would be open by then but you can go to stitchkingdom.com and click in the refirbs link to make sure. You can put in your dates and resort to see what is open & what is being refirbed.

I would say yes! Of course we always go in January and we always find ourselves in the pool at some point.
And I think both water parks are open in April, Typhoon Lagoon is closed in the late fall/early winter, and Blizzard Beach is closed through the rest of the winter.

On a sunny day, it's pretty warm by April. Especially if you're not from a place that's as hot as Florida (I find April a little chilly, but I'm a FL girl and prefer temps over 90!)

We always go in early February and we still find days that are good for swimming. This year we were there Feb 23rd thru Mar 8th and the weather was great for swimming.:thumbsup2 You are there a whole month later. I think that the advantage you will have is some night swimming. When we were there is was usually too cool for swimming at night. You may have some of the same thing. Have fun!!

Yes, it will be plenty warm enough for swimming in Florida in early April.

I am in southern NH. It is about quater to 9 right now and a balmy 34 degrees out right now so to me low 80's sounds just about perfect. We usually go in April but spring break for us is the last week in April. We always find time to go swimming then.

Probably depends on the person. Our last trip was in late April and I thought it was too cool, but kids did fine. BUT, I like WARM weather to swim in. The pool was packed, so I guess nobody else minded.

i just got back last night... it was hot, hot, hot!! we were just there for the weekend, and not much down time. i wanted to jump in the pool so bad!!!

April isn't a sure thing weather-wise. We went a few years ago, had one warm day, and the rest of the trip was too cold for swimming. We went to Blizzard Beach and there were literally only a handful of people there. They closed it early because of the cold that day. I think that was a fluke-y thing for April, but it can happen.

Thanks all for your response. talking to DW about it....we're leaning towards going in August of this year ( yeah! ) or August of next year ( boo! ). Now, I have to deal with the rain instead of the sun :( .

We were there mid may and it was too hot to sit by the pool without getting wet. I live in az so I know hot. I would think April would be perfect pool weather. Not to hot not to cool.

Looks like 90+ is in this week's forecast!

Gosh, yes. We went one April and it was SO hot, all we wanted to do was leave the parks and hop in the pool.

One of the reasons we moved away from Orlando was because Aprill usually starts the 6-7 months of 90+ days and the dreaded heat index. So yes it will be warm enough to swim:)

my daughter is at university about an hour away, it has been in the high 80's this past week.
