Weather in December ...

Hello,

first of all I have to say sorry for my bad English ... I am from Vienna/Austria, but I will try my best ...

My family and I are going to spend our Christmas Holidays in Florida and are going to Disney World for 2 days.
We have been there several times but never in Winter.
We often spend our summer holidays there ...

We want to see the evening parade @ Magic Kingdom and we always sat there for about 2 hours to get a good place to watch.
What would you suggest to bringt, blankets? emergency blankets? Where do you sit on for 1-2 hours. I think when sun is gone it must be pretty cool ..
Is there anything to buy in the park oder is it better to buy outside?

I saw the Frozen Show is at 7.30 pm ... and then Wishes und then the parade ...
When do you think it is time to get a good place ..
We normaly sit in front of the castle ...

I can not tell you how excited I am, my biggest dream was so celebrate XMAS in Florida, and this year its gonna happen ... yeahhhhhhhhh

First, HOORAY! Holidays in DIsney are amazing and you will love it!

I will pass on the timeing because it has been a few years since I was there in December. So much has changed that my info is not current.

I will chime in on clothing though. It was COLD three years ago, and I needed to buy a hat. I think that it can get breezy even during the day, and conditions that would be fine if you were constantly moving are not pretty darn cold, so I suggest layers. WE always take really warm hoodies and mittens. I forgot a warm hat last time and was "forced" to by a Minnie Hat...but honestly, the wind in th WC in Epcot was biting. I'm from Northern CT and live in the hills. My DH and I never expected that we would be so cold when the temps were so mild in comparison to what we left behind.

Evenings can be very cool so if you are planning on camolin our for a spot, I would think maybe a stadium blanket ont the curb would be welcomed. They are not too heavy and will keep some of the cold off you. If t=you have a windbreaker that will keep the breeze from penetrating your clothing, and make a big difference in keeping your body heat in.
So layers, a hat mittens and a windbreaker. And a trusty DIsney Hoodie!

We were at WDW the first 2 weeks of December last year, weather was anywhere from needing coats to shirt sleeves. On the MVMCP, a little breeze that night so we wore base layer insulated underware. Thin but effective! We also took extra coats and gloves and rented a locker when we went in, I think $7 by the time you get your deposit back. My opinion, best thing you can do, you don't have to carry everything around all day and when it starts to cool off at night, just get them out of locker and put them on. I would say most mornings were around upper 40's and lower 50's. Didn't need big heavy coats, just a medium coat. Have fun, WDW was great at Christmas time. Make sure you take the time to check out the gingerbread house at GF and the chocolate carousal at Contemporary. If you have time, check out Fort Wilderness some evening, the decorations from campers are wonderful.

Your English is very good! I'm one of those Americans that never learned a second language until recently so someone so fluent in other languages is always impressive.

You are definitely ahead of the curve then when planning, as you know you have to camp out a place to get a good view.

I would say to be sure you are comfortable on the cooler pavement in Winter to bring a blanket to sit on. As has been mentioned if you don't want to carry it with you all day or go back to your hotel, you can rent a locker at the front of the park. You can indeed buy blanket, hats, hoodies etc... in the park, but you know about the higher prices there. I do wind up buying a knit cap at Disney usually when I go in winter for a souvenir. I'm a cold natured person, so I like the layer strategy. Unless it is really cold, I usually would do a t-shirt, hoodie, windbreaker combo. I have had to wear a full winter coat before, but that was in February. In November/December I usually didn't need a heavy coat.

I haven't ever staked out a spot with the new hub, so I can't help on this one.
