hi, we have decided to go to disney from the 4th dec till 22 dec this year, could anyone who has been at this time please tell us what to expect is it hot enough for shorts!! also does it rain alot and last question is it very busy? we have been before in sept, oct and april, sorry so many questions thanks in advance susie :wave2:

We visted Orlando at the start of December in 2001. It was warm enough for shorts, we were wearing them but a few Floridians weren't!

It was warm enough for us to pay a visit to Blizzard Beach, so it can't have been that cold, and it didn't rain that much either really.

The parks were deserted, especially the Universal parks were we walked on to everything :) The Disney parks were a bit busier, but nowhere near the crowd levels I've seen on previous July/August trips. The best thing though about visiting at that time of the year was getting the chance to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (including hot chocolate and cookies) and seeing the Osborn (sp?) Family Lights which were brilliant, although with MGM's current building work I'm not sure how this will be effected, although it does appear to be running this year.

Hey Susie
I have been twice in December and on both occasions when the sun was out (which was most days) it was warm enough for shorts and tee shirts. You will probably need long trousers and jumper for evenings, especially if sitting for long periods (eg. Fantasmic). Most years there are a couple of cold days in December and we had a lot of rain in 2002 but I think that is unusual. In short, you just have to prepare for a bit of everything.
The good news is that the parks were very quiet until about the 21st/22nd so you get to enjoy the decorations and atmosphere without any stress. December is a great time to go.

We went in Dec in 1997 and although we had about 5 days out of 16 that were warm enough for shorts, the rest were so cold we had to go and buy sweatshirts etc. The temp was around 38F and we were wearing about 6 layers. So I'm afraid you'll have to pack for every type of weather, including hats and gloves.:(
