Weather in Costa Rica in August

Can anyone tell me about the weather in early August for the Costa Rica trip? It appears that August in the rainy season and I was wondering if anyone who had gone on the trip could share his/her experience. Thanks

We went to Costa Rica with ABD at the end of August & the weather was beautiful! We were warned not to expect to see the top of the Arenal volcano, but it was there every morning - just amazing! However, a friend who went independently to CR right after we got back had 3 weeks of steady rain thanks to Hurricane Felix (CR has never been hit by a hurricane, but it gets the side effects of winds & rain). The guides know rainy weather is possible, and have planty of ponchos (and alternate plans) ready.
So just go - it was a great trip!!!
