Hi,

I was just wondering how the weather and humidity are in Oct. If we decide to camp, we have a tent - so it's nature's climate control!

Thanks!

Minniesfriend, you will love the weather there during that time. This will be our 5th year at the Ft. during the last week of October. You'll find the temps during the day will be in the low to mid 80's and and night will be in the mid 60's to mid 70's. The humidity will be low and skies will be crystal clear "Carolina Blue".

We will be there Oct. 22 thru the 29th.

HOWEVER....This is the end of hurricane season, so you may expect some rain. I have been in October when it was fairly chilly during the day and night, and have been in November (2003 to be exact) when the week before Thanksgiving week was brutally hot and humid even at night. We are planning on going the middle of October and I am bringing some rain gear, some cool weather clothes and some hot weathr items. As I was taught in the Scouts - be prepared.

For the most part it is wonderful. We have only had one trip in many years that we had a tropical storm cut our vacation short. It was the end of October and we have a pop up and they were talking about several inches of rain. Needless to say living in Wisconsin and the prospect of bring home a soaking wet camper in October, was not appealing to us. So we left a day early and got out just in time. It started raining about an hour into our trip home. Anyway, it is our favorite time to visit the fort.
