Weather Comparison--May versus September

I have been to DW several times in September, so I have an understanding of how hot it is then. I would love to see the Flower and Garden Festival, so considering a trip in early to mid May as I want to avoid the Easter/Spring Break crowds. So, anyone with experience know how May's weather compares to September? I have looked at historical weather temps, but I want to know how it feels. To me, September can actually be very miserable...the humidity at times unbearable. I realize that asking how the weather feels is going to have varying responses based on the individual, but would still like to hear other's opinions/experience.

May is pretty warm, but generally not too humid. It's so much nicer than September.
That is very encouraging to hear!!!! Maybe I can talk my family into May (they do NOT want to go back in September).

May is hot, but IMO waaaaay more comfortable than the swimming through pea soup of September.

This is the perfect breakdown between May and September. It’s always hot but, boy oh boy, does that humidity make a difference.
We tend to use ponchos more in September too, since it rains so much. There’s nothing like the feeling of a poncho gluing itself to your skin...humidity inside and out. Lol

We always go early May. We've had great luck with the weather (rain wise), except that one reallllyy bad thunderstorm in early May 2015. We were in DHS and a palm tree near the park entrance was struck by lightning. It was the most awful sound I've ever heard and everyone started panicking and running into the stores. We've usually only had one rainy day at the most.

I find end of October - end of May to be the most enjoyable in Florida. I avoid the summer months at all cost because I don't think suffering through the heat is worth it if you can go any other time of the year. It gets hot and humid enough here in SC over the summer I can't imagine going on vacation and suffering more :rotfl:

10 years ago on May 31 TS Arthur... 0.1 possibilities, still better odds than September.

Arthur, TD #1, Alberto, Beryl, unnammed sub tropical, Ana, Alex, Bonnie, and Arlene all out of season storms just in the last 10 years. 10 more in the previous 10 years to that. Yes, September has better chances of a tropical system but there is never a guarantee.

Alberto and Beryl of 2012 were the ones I was thinking of. I remember the 2 back to back right before the season started and thinking we were in for a long season.

May is not pleasant by any means, but it is certaintly better than September. (I live in Florida).
This is what I'm concerned about. I don't want it to be so hot that we are constantly seeking indoor rides/attractions to get out of the heat. We've been before in December and January and have had a mix from quite hot and low humidity to freezing cold, but our January 2017 trip was perfect weather....not so much January of this year.

May is awful, no one should ever go in May....:rolleyes1

Actually, it is very nice compared to September. We went early May last year and it was very pleasant and F&G is beautiful, love the butterflies!
Thank you for the heads up....we'll completely throw May off table....:smooth:
