We are thinking of heading out of snowy Ohio for MB after Easter. What will the weather be like? Warm enough to swim in an outdoor pool and play on the beach? I know the ocean will still be chilly.

Thanks........

Early April is kind of hit or miss with the weather in S Carolina. It could be in the 80's or 50's depends on your luck.

My parents live in North MB, and one of the kids usually goes for a visit every year during spring break (the week that ends with Easter). The pools have not been warm enough, but the beach/golf/other outdoor stuff is fun. They have even gotten in the ocean a bit (just the little waves near the shoreline). Of course, that's coming from our perspective that it's better than here in PA!

I live close to that area and the temperature in early April is not terribly predictable. It is "usually" warm, capris or shorts during the day, but you may need a light sweater late evenings or in the early mornings. Normally I have needed a sweater for the outdoor sunrise Easter services.

We certainly don't swim in the ocean or in an outdoor pool in early April, but Myrtle Beach has several visitors who do. Normally, when we see folks swimming at that time of year, we assume they must be from a much colder climate.

If you wanted to be safe, I would suggest as someone else already has, that you get a hotel with an indoor and an outdoor pool. But other outdoor activities should be pleasant at that time of year. Hope you have a great time.

I'm trying to organize clothes to pack for Hilton Head next week and accuweather changes to forecast daily...first they said the first couple days would be in the 50s...now they say 70s! I'll just take everything I guess!

We live in upstate SC. We spent a spring break in Myrtle Beach and swore we would not do it again. It was too cold to go swimming or wear a bathing suit outside really. We like the beach when it is good and hot though. There is plenty to do there but most of it costs money so it can get expensive trying to entertain yourself. Like someone else said, if you go, get a place with an indoor pool.
