Weather at Disneyworld now?

We will be arriving on May 14. I know it's starting to get warm already, but what is it like early morning or in the evening after it gets dark? Should we bring jackets or sweat shirts? TIA

I’m here now. Early morning and evenings are comfortable. Mid day is HOT!
I bring a “summer sweater” (aka a very light cardigan) every day because I get cold easily. I usually only need it on indoor rides or in restaurants. Most everyone else is perfectly comfortable in short sleeves.

Just checking the weather for my son's trip 11-15 May. Looks like it may be a rainy time but I can't tell what the weather reports really mean because it can rein a lot in Florida. Sunday is only 82 degrees? Any locals have better insight?

You're all too early to get a real prediction. Check back a day before your trip, but even then be prepared for it to change when you're actually there.

Elle...how busy is it?

These questions are sooo subjectives. Example: the other day (where I live) it was 68F with a bit of a breeze. My kids and I were perfectly comfortable in shorts and t-shirts and sandals. But then there were other people who were cold and were wearing jeans and t-shirts and hoodies.

I would bring a lightweight hoodie just in case. Something that's not too bulky, that's easy to carry into the park with you. That way, if you need it you have it. Myself, I wouldn't be donning a hoodie until probably at least 60F, and it would have to be damp.

It all depends on where you are from. I'm a Michigan boy and we were in WDW in late February this year and it was mid 80's every day and it dropped into the low 70's upper 60's every night. We were hot. The CM's were dressed for winter in the parks at night and we just laughed at them. 68 degrees to me is wonderful weather, especially when you leave a state where it was 10 below. Last time I was in WDW in May (2009) it got into the mid 90's every day. That's why we go in February.

It's been hot for months now. I couldn't imagine wearing anything more than shorts and shirts in this weather.

To those that might get cold easily, by 7am it's warmed up.

This! My husband finds anything over 75 "too warm"!

I live here and it's lovely at the moment, not too hot at all (imo) - in the 80s during the day and the 70s in the early morning and evenings. Bring a light sweater in case it's chilly, but otherwise I think it's perfect at the moment.

Kate...is it busy/crowded?

I'd bring a sweatshirt just in case. We were there a couple of weeks ago and most days were HOT. We were sweating in the sun at 9am waiting for the bus....but then some rain moved through and the next day was really chilly and breezy (and we are from New England, so used to cold temps). We were in capris and sweatshirts and were still kind of cold. It was only a day but I'm sure glad we had them! The rest of the days were pretty clear-cut, we didn't even bring them to the parks except our last night when we knew we'd be there later into the evening.

I am finding that checking the weather too far in advance is like nailing jello to the wall-wasted effort and frustration at the result. We are now 5 days out and yesterday I started checking-even though I know better. It changed multiple times on the one app I trust the most and none of the other sites I checked matched one another exactly. I think we can count on warm to hot though, and here's to hoping not a lot of rain :)

You won’t need any jackets- florida has passed our “Winter season”. However I will say we’re entering our summer weather patterns already, as last weekend and this weekend both had/show rain in the mid-afternoons. Its about 80-90 during the day and around 70-75 at night. But again, the bigger weather pattern this time of year is the afternoon rains, which are usually not longer than about an hour but can get nasty in Orlando.

When you are ready to pack, go to WESH.com ( one of our local Orlando television channels). Click on weather then 10 day forecast. This will give you a good idea of what to bring. Also go to Walmart or Target and pick up cheap ponchos for everyone just in case :)

I would take light jackets. We just got back and at times it was chilly late at night. We are also from the Midwest so we don't get the Southern approach to AC. It's 85 outside and it's a blast freezer in the buildings (that is not just a Disney thing - I've found that in many Southern and Western places I've visited). Housekeeping kept setting our room to 62 during the day. My DS5 was always cold during meals.

We had 85 ish temps during the day and the humidity felt low. But over the weekend it rained and felt like the humidity had arrived. Not sure if it still feels that way or not, but be prepared for hot and humid.
