My daughters school b reaks up Fri 13th last day, first day back, including teachers training day ... first day back Thu 2nd Nov.

In the Uk it depends where you live, normally a week to 10 days including last week of Oct. Thats why we booked the week before too, to TRY and miss a bit of the UK crowds. Dont know how this will work ??

one of the replys said you were going over columbus day week, you are not, columbus day is the 9th. those folks should be out of there by the 14th or 15th

Correct! That is why I choose to arrive on Oct. 14th as the big Colombus Day crowds will be heading out. We go in October/late every year and the crowds are moderate (not summer or holiday; but not slow either). We never take jeans during our October trips. A sweatshirt or jacket mostly to wear when we get home after getting off of the plane. It will be in the low 80s if this is a typical October....hopefully no surprise hurricanes as it is still hurricane season, though near the end, but can still happen. I compare this time of year with late April/early May. At night, it usually does not get too cool, usually mid 70s. The only time we have found it cool was during our early December trips and early February trips, where sweats and jackets, even hats and gloves are a must for the evening.

Hopefully my jeans and sweatshirt will stay in the luggage. The crowds were very manageable last year during the last week of October. Hoping for the same this year.

Hoping to see some of my fellow DISers during our trip.

We have been IN Oct. 2001 and 2004. The main times that we notice the crowds are at the Nighttime shows. Spectro will be CRAZY with so few showings. Fantasmic also fills up pretty fast.

Wait times for rides aren't bad at all. We usually get through all the attractions in each park, including all parades and shows, and the headliners(Splash, TT, TOTect.) at least 3-4 times in our week trip.

SO.. it sometimes seems very crowded to us, BUT, we see absolutely everything that we want to and more!!!

We will keep going in Oct.!!!!!

We live in SWFL and we wear shorts to WDW...it is still warm at that time of the year. We also go to WDW every Oct around the 19th and it seems to be getting busier every year!
