Another silly little question if you dont mind.
My husband has a paranoia about his body - although isn't actually that big! (But what it is to be a vain man! lol)
Anyway, he wants to wear a vest top/tshirt whilst in all the water parks - is this allowed??

Thankyou
Emma

Hi,

Vest tops and T-Shirts are allowed but you may have to remove them if you go on any of the rides for safety reasons.

The same goes for shorts with metal fastenings and rivets.

Emma - just to say that there are ALL sorts of shapes and sizes in WDW :)

I am sure your husband would be fine in comparison!!

I've got a funny feeling you aren't supposed to wear tops on the rides. I'm not sure though, it's just something in the back of my head! I've looked through all my photos of TL today and I can't see anyone in the wave pool with a top on at all, whether this means they are allowed or not though I don't know!

Sorry - posted at the same time as Bonzo! Great minds Shaun ;)

When we visited the water parks in March this year, we all wore t-shirts in the wave pool and on the slides. They were just plain t-shirts with no rivets or anything like that and we did not have a problem with getting on the slides. We wore them because we are very fair skinned and it cuts out the worry of burning in the sun.

Both my DD's are very fair skinned and have always worn just a plain T'shirt at the water park's. They were fine on the slides that they went on, and in the wave pools etc....didn't do anything like summit plummit though:)

I sometimes wear a vest at the water parks - a nylon/polyester sports type - so no it's not a problem, wear what you want it's your holiday.

I've got my two kids UV swim t-shirts for the water parks this year, and I'm considering one for myself as my shoulders tend to fry in the sun.

Surely a T with UV protection shouldnt be discouraged in the park. I do remember back to one year in Spain i snorkeled for ages with a T on and i have never been burned so much ever. They simply do not protect you in water where the effects of the sun are multiplied

we're just back from WDW, where we made several visits to BB and TL.
My son wore his UV shirt without problem, and my husband and I both wore tshirts the whole time, without problem.

You're not supposed to wear sunglasses on the rides, either. Which is a real pain as mine are prescription. When we went to BB I had to ask my son to read all the signs which showed the way to each ride

Snap - I'm as blind as a bat without mine, but it's too much hassle taking them on and off and asking the CMs to look after them.

I think next time I may get some prescription goggles. Found some here that look pretty cheap.

Well, naughty as it may be (as far as the optician is concerned), I shall be wearing my contact lenses in the water parks and pool (you're not supposed to wear them in water, but both my BF and I need them, so we will be wearing them) :teeth:

HY DH always wears his (old) lenses in the water - without them he would walk past me on the stairs! My kids both wore their UV shirts (and shorts) at BB and TL this year. They looked like they were swimming in their pyjamas but it made them easy to spot and they HATE getting lotion on so they didn't care what they looked like!

You could always get a free trial from Specsavers - you can get 30 day continuous wear ones - night and day!!!!

Cool - thanks for the link, Carl :cool1: That's a really interesting idea, especially since I do 40-50 lengths once or twice a week in the local pool and just hope no-one passing me knows me and thinks I'm ignoring them  :rolleyes1 Ta, off to investigate.

We all wore UV rash shirts at Blizzard Beach in the past two weeks, no problem at all and no sunburn.

As for your DH worrying what he looks like, tell him not to. People are there from the petite to the simply enormous, so whatever his shape he will not stand out because they will be plenty just like him.
