Hey All!

I have seen this over and over again. Some girls and some women wearing pajama bottoms at the theme parks during cooler weather. I have also seen this in various department stores, Target, Walmart, grocery stores etc. Is this the norm? Is this even acceptable? Why not just slip on a pair of sweats or elastic pants?

What are your thoughts on this??

Thanks All!
Brunette

I think it's incredibly tacky. I've totally done it, but mainly just to the grocery or drug store for a quick trip. I also don't understand the new trend around here of the young girls wearing athletic shorts everywhere (with full hair and makeup, no less). I can see wearing athletic shorts to the parks before pj pants...and I love my pj pants.

IMO unless it is 1994 and you are on your way to a 7am college class its not appropriate. It's tacky but I don't see E! calling me to work the next red carpet even in Joan Rivers place as commentator. :goodvibes

Unless you are planning to either sleep or lounge in the theme park, I would say it's a bad idea.
But, really, better PJ bottoms than some of the special fashions I've seen around...

I think it is ridiculous and they will look back on their pictures and wonder "what was I thinking?!" I miss the days when people dressed up to go places. Women wore shirtdresses on an airplane and men wore button up shirts. Now I see pj pants and sleeveless tanks with brillo-y underarm hair waving at me. I have even seen people walking on the street in my town in full on fuzzy slippers. I am sure they will have foot problems in the future, they have no support for walking around town! Hopefully it is just a trend and the pendulum will swing in the other direction soon.

While I would not do it, I don't see it as offending. If they are comfy, what business of mine is it to comment on whether they are in their PJ's or not. Some times it is better to see PJ's than spandex on people..

:rotfl2: DH and I saw this at Panera Bread last week and we both looked at one another like....:scared1: :lmao: The girl looked to be around 16 and was wearing a belly bearing tank and pajama pants.:rolleyes1

I agree. I might not like it, but I say live and let live.

My 10-year old lives in her PJ pants. As for adults ... I would much rather see women in PJ pants than the lower butt-cheek displaying short-shorts that were favored by Brazilian tourists a few years ago.

It's not offensive to me, but it just screams laziness or no pride in how you look. Most of these girls and women look disheveled and unkempt. As if anything goes. I think this goes along with the pants guys wear that are about 20 inches BELOW their waist. You know, where you can see their underwear hanging out. :confused3 Now I am far from a prude, but I don't think you could land a job looking like this, IMO.

As I look out over some of my co-workers now dear I assure you they can get jobs and do. With thier underoo's hanging out and all. Saw a girl (lady isn't a good description of her even though she is 40+) last week in her bathing suit cover up, masquerading it as a dress. No joke, my MIL has the same one. I miss the good old days when we required people to dress up for work, even semi casual. At the ripe old age of 29 I miss those days, how sad is that.

Lazy - unless you are lounging around an indoor room or sleeping PJ's are not appropriate.

Hey Pirategirl007!

WOW! I just can't imagine wearing a bathing suit cover up as a dress? Too much! LOL! Yeah, well we have business casual here at work on Fridays. Men usually wear khaki's and a polo type shirt, women, in slacks and a blouse. During the week I usually wear a suit or slacks and a blouse.

This new phenomenon boggles my mind. It's very "in" here for the younger crowd (12-25 :rotfl2:) Or older..........

No one should be at Target on Sunday at 2 pm in PJ bottoms.

You cannot go to job interview in jeans as well, dress code is dress code. I personally do not wear PJs outside my house but it became acceptable long time ago and some people look better in PJs then others in evening dress. It is trend and really cannot be compared to those nasty underwear/jeans combo, PJs show nothing inappropriet. I personally believe that whatever person is comfortable in is good for parks, providing it comply with dress restrictions/code.
