Wearing Pajamas at the Mall

Frankly I don't understand why it bothers people so much. Honestly, do you know why that person is doing it? Maybe they aren't feeling well and ran out to get some medicine or some other necessity. Maybe they were in a situation where those were the only clothes they had (house fire, lost luggage, recently gained/lost a lot of weight.) This probably isn't true for most people, but why not give somebody the benefit of the doubt? They're not hurting you.

I would much rather see somebody in pajama bottoms than pants sagging so low I can see their underwear, or those little girls with their thongs hanging out. At least the pereson is covered and modest. If I were in a nice restaurant, then maybe I would care. But at Wal Mart or the mall? It's just not a big deal to me.

I'm 44 years old and I wore my green and blue plaid pajama bottoms to Kmart on Thanksgiving Day. Quite frankly I just don't care. I threw on a sweatshirt over my pajama top and a coat over that. What do I care. I wasn't meeting the queen! My daughter and I go to Kmart every Thanksgiving Day and then go to IHOP after. Hey my money is still green no matter what I'm wearing!!

I'm a big lady, if I went out in a tube top and hip huggers, now THAT would be scary:scared1:

I've seen this trend(even with women in the age group you mentioned)for about the last 5 years at least...I don't get it.I would never go out in PJ's how hard would it be to throw on a pair of athletic type pants?

OP, I'm guessing you were at Woodland? Yep, they were promoting a pajama party. Sorry I missed out on that one! :rotfl2:

I saw a girl - a teen and she was model thin- wearing a sweater and cable knit tights. NO PANTS! you could see that they were Tights and not pants- because the sweater only went to her hip- so her butt was hanging out.

And this was in the grocery store!:scared1: I wanted to say " you forgot something"

I had to drop something off at my kids high school last week & there were a ton of kids (both boys & girls) in their pj pants.

My personal opinion is that it is lazy to go out in your pajamas. It doesn't take much to throw on a pair of jeans, athletic pants or even some decent sweatpants.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but I happen to see the same girls/women out in PJ pants at the malls that surround me pretty often. My thing is, you can't be that sick if you're out shopping. And the women don't look like they've grown out of their clothes and the teen girls wear the low bottomed PJ pants so it's still bad.

Never!!

Honestly, I think it's trashy. There are other pants that aren't pj pants that are just as comfortable that look much better.

A step up: sweatpants.
Years and years ago a friend and I had discovered sweats one winter. After really dressing up for work all week we would wear sweats all weekend. We both kept saying - but what are we going to do for "summer sweats"?

I fully support everyone's right to look as trashy as they wish! ;) (Kidding - I certainly understand why someone who doesn't feel well might wear them out.)

I personally wouldn't do it but I don't care if others do. I just hope that it doesn't lead to teddies.
Be careful if anyone is taking a sleep med. I know of a older, fluffy woman who woke up downtown dressed in a teddie after taking an Ambien before she went to bed.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'll have you know that in passive agressive honor of this thread, I wore men's fleece sleep pants, Mammoth Crocs, and a Disney hoodie to my last class today- pretty typical on a college campus, but I am not your typical student- 32, married, with 2 kids!:rotfl2:

I have summer sweats, they're called terry pants or terry capris. I have all different colors :rotfl: .

That's my thing. I wouldn't wear them if I were going to be out all day or somewhere nice. But I figure Kmart and IHOP on Thanksgiving. I am a manager in finance and I wear business casual all week. I could wear jeans on Fridays but I don't. So wearing jammies once in a while is a small way to "cut loose". :goodvibes
