We've never been to the water parks and are planning to do both this year. :cool1: My husband and I both wear glasses for distance and are currently not using contact lenses. Would we be able to wear prescription sunglasses throughout the water parks? Are there any rides where we would be required to remove them?
I usually wear mine all day at our local water park with no issues, but wasn't sure of the policies at WDW's WPs.

I wear prescription sunglasses too and I wear them all day at the water parks. Sometimes I take them off and hold them on the slides if I'm afraid they'll fall off.

Have fun!!

I always use a sports strap to hold my glasses on. Then I can go down slides and stay in the wave pool. You can get one at a sports store or sporting goods section of a WalMart-Target-KMart. Mine is called "Froggy" or something like that.

I wore prescription sunglasses the entire trip. At both waterparks, I just added a sports strap and had no problems with my glasses.

Unless there's another brand I'm not familiar with, they are called "Croakie." Easy to see the misnomer. :goodvibes

This may be stating the obvious but remember to have your glasses on or off, if you have a habit of putting them on your head. I wear contacts so mine were just sunglasses, but I pushed them onto the top of my head and forgot i had them on at the TL wave pool :lmao: Need I say more?!

A strong word of warning. On a typical summer day we tend to get at least 30 pair of glasses turned in to Lost and Found. In addition, we tend to get at least another 30-40 people who come searching for their glasses and they have not been turned in.

And last trip, I was one of them. And I was using sports straps. Thankfully, a helpful CM suggested checking at the lifeguard stands, where my sunglasses were waiting for me.

Thanks for this question! I have only worn my glasses in the lazy river, for fear of losing them, but the slides are only so much fun when everything is a "blur". I don't really do the wave pool (that's DH's forte!) but I never thought to get those straps for things like the raft rides! :thumbsup2

While at Typhoon Lagoon my boyfriend wore his glasses and not his contacts, well one of the big waves hit us and off went the glasses. Thanks to the help of a little girl we recovered them...and then quickly went to the gift shop and bought him the sports strap. Definitely pick them up before you go! :thumbsup2

First, I think you absolutely NEED sunglasses at the waterparks. Especially BB because of the white backgrounds all over - it is SO bright, you have the reflection of the sun off of the water...

Second though, I'd caution you to take care of the sunglasses, especially if they're expensive. That strap thing recommended above might be generally good, however some of the slides/pools are very intense and I'm sure they can get ripped right off the strap.

- At TL, I forgot I was wearing them and got wiped out in the wave pool - when I got up my wife asked me where my glasses were? We eventually did see them at a lifeguard stand (someone must have turned them in), BUT the lifeguard refused to give them to me and said I needed to go to lost and found later in the day after he turned them in there. After working him for an hour he eventually gave them to me. Now I have a suit with a front zip pocket that I put them in when going into the more violent slides and TL wave pool.
