We were thinking about wearing both a mask and shield together in the airport’s and in the airplane.
Has anyone seen anyone do this?

We flew Southwest for our Oct 12-17 trip to WDW and saw a few people in the airport and on our plane who were wearing both a mask and a face shield, and some even wore gloves.

I know for SW you must wear the mask but the additional face shield is optional, but you can't wear just the face shield as they require a mask.

We brought extra wipes to wipe down the plane parts, seat belt and tray, and they even came around collecting the dirty wipes prior to take off - it must be more common now for folks to do their own cleaning...

We felt totally safe on the plane and in the airports and didn't see anyone not wearing a mask...

God luck!

Thanks! Yeah I know mask are required, but thought we might wear a shield for eye protection.

We had a layover in Chicago in October and I kid you not, we saw a couple that looked like they just stepped out of the OR.
Paper gown, booties of their shoes, gloves, masks and shields.
if you feel more comfortable with a shied then you should wear one. Don’t worry about what anyone alas thinks.

Oh, and I did see someone wearing protective glasses instead of a shield - if you wanted that option...
I thought of that but I wear eye glasses. My granddaughter who will be with me does not wear glasses so I thought a shield would help with her especially.

The gloves are pointless unless you change them every time you touch something.

I brought them with me for our recent trip but once we got on the plane, we decided they were not needed because we didn’t have a ton of people around us,

My DD did keep her sunglasses on during the entire trip and I did for some when I decided to rest,

Had it been more crowded, I might have used it.

Yes, we saw a couple of families 3 weeks ago ago at O'Hare wearing face shields. Also on plane. My sister bought us face shields for our Disney Jan trip but we are not going to wear. Uncomfortable and we feel we are very careful as we are old but don't want the shields We both wear glasses and a suggestion is you get a pair of non-prescription cheap glasses for her to wear if you feel uncomfortable.

We never felt unsafe art airport(s), on planes, and certainly not at Disney. I felt far more unsafe when we returned home to reality and daily life. So glad we went in September/Oct and going to Cocoa Beach in December including Disney in January. Snowbirding for very first time. It's now or never.

If you want to wear a face shield then do it but it really is overkill and there’s a reason why they require a mask but not a face shield.

If it was really spreading on airplanes and airports then more crew members would have gotten it by now.
Hmm I think crew members have gotten it, but do they wear a shield?

I’ve heard goggles being recommended. Like motorcycle goggles. Amazon sells them. They have a soft cushion around the eye pieces that provides a seal. Good eye protection. That’s what we will use when flying to protect the eyes.

I wear glasses so that wouldn’t work for me.
