I got home today, there was a message on my machine from Disney.

We won a Pin and Lanyard set!!!:cool1:

I was excited.
On the message she says "You have won a prize from the Disney Dream Team"
"I'm thinking--oh, please be something big, please be something big"
"You have won a pin and lanyard set"

So I had to call back, and answer a skill testing question (because I am Canadian). I asked her how I won, she said that they put each days entries into a bin, and pick so many a day. And I won! She said the prize will be here in a few weeks. I sent 3 postcards in, about 2 monthes ago. (and no, I didn't cut them down to the 'right' size!) Now I want to send in more!

We dont actually collect the pins, but may have to start now! The kids got a free one last time we stayed, and did have fun trading them with CMs, and just put them on their hats. Now we will have one lanyard anyway! Now, which kid gets it.....??

Just wanted to share my excitement! :yay:

Congrats! A Canadian winner :goodvibes

I've been sending postcards in for about a month and nothing yet. So maybe I'll get something in time for my trip. *fingers crossed*

That's great! I wonder how many postcards they are getting a day.

Congrats...I won it too. We sent in 10 post cards but ours were 3.5x5. It is very exciting when you get the call. We collect pins and thought it was a really nice set. Ours was from DL. It took about 6 weeks to get it after I answered the skills questions though.

Congrats!! :thumbsup2 And, since you are the one who sent in the postcard, I think YOU should get the lanyard! ;)

I'm holding out for the trip to Europe or DVC membership. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :dance3:

Haha, when I told my kids my DD said right away-"I want it!" then DS said he wanted it. I said we would wait until we got it, and see if it is more boyish, or girlish, or maybe it will be a special YOMD one? Then I will get the other kid one.

I bought 5 more postcards to send in. I am going for::wizard:

1.The Grand Marshal World Tour
2.Disney Vacation Club membership
3.Disney Cruise
4.Disneyland trip
5.Disneyworld trip.

Not asking too much am I? Five postcards, 5 prizes....;) :)

They are special lanyards just for the promotion and say "Year of A Million Dreams". It also comes with two pins and it will either say WDW or DL on it. The set is definitely "unisex"...so if your kids are anything like mine, the fight is on!!! BTW, I'm in the same boat as I won one lanyard and am hoping to get a second so each child gets one. I've sent in over 100 postcards and decided to take a break for a few months and start sending them again. Good Luck!!!

Congratulations! Do you really have to cut them down to the right size? If not I might just start sending them every other week!

No -- you don't have to send the size specified in the official rules. I won using the prestamped postcards sold by the Post Office (as have many others).

I still haven't recieved my prize, so I wanted to pull this thread up to see when I got the phone call. So it has been one month....hopefully it comes soon!!!

Anyone else gotten a call? I find this strange since so many just got something in the mail... I'm hoping we win the castle because we are close enought o get there if they call... LOL

I received a call yesterday saying that I won a pin and lanyard set. After I answered the skill testing question correctly (phew!), he said he would forward my name onto Disney. I believe he said it would take about 4-8 weeks to receive the prize. So you might have a little longer to wait... hopefully not much more though :goodvibes

Congratulations to you too!!!!:cheer2:

I couldn't remember how long they said it would take, I am glad you reminded me! Thanks!

Ok now more curious than before... what kind of "skill" question?

Any time Canadians enter and win a contest, they have to answer a skill testing question. In this case, it was a math question. The questions are there so that the contest is not considered purely a game of luck such as a lottery (which fall under different rules and require a license to run). HTH! :)

Where do we send the postcards too. I'm in Canada also. Quebec Canada. We are leaving for disney Dec 21.
