It was so much fun. We had only been in the park for about 45 minutes (AND it was our first day at Disney). We ate at the Main Street Bakery and then headed to Toon Town. DS wanted to see Mickey, but he was in an AWFUL, GRUMPY mood. I was doing my best to cheer him up. We stopped and traded a couple of pins and then headed off to Mickey's house to find Mickey. Every time we saw a cast member, I had him ask if we were headed the right was for Mickey...The last time, we stopped this gentleman named Mark. He was not in any special uniform/costume. Looked more like a business man. Anyway, he said he had noticed us trading pins and were we having fun. We told him yes, but we were trying to find Mickey. He laughed, told Brayden he was just around the corner and then asked what we had planned for around 2:30, he would like us to meet him by Splash Mountain so we could be Grand Marshalls of the Parade. He was on the lookout for a family who was having fun. He took our names and off we went. Mickey, Barnstormer, Face painting, all sorts of things. At 2:30 we met him where he asked us to. He handed us all personalized Mickey ears and loaded us into our car (with Clarabelle and Horace walking with us) They took tons of pictures, gave us all bottles of water, tons of stickers, a certificate saying we were Grand Marshalls. We had a special place to watch the parade (along with the Castle Suite winners) So many cast members congratulated us and really truly made us all feel so special.
It was a wonderful experience!
