We want the Drama so we're bringing the Mama dec 2011 PTR

I was actually thinking of you the morning that I made my ADR's and wondered if you got the CRT you wanted- very happy that you did! And I'm glad for you that you were able to get some other good places! I am hoping for free dining too, but still have to keep the money in check for the just in case we don't get it!

About the shirts- maybe you can do the Mickey heads with characters and names and just the same color shirts? I know that a lot of the DISigners make character mickey heads and you can just have all the same color shirts that match each head! -I hope that that makes sense I haven't had much sleep lately and just drank a cup of coffee and can't now:eek:-this is what I look like right now! Coffee was a mistake to drink so late at night!!

I am so glad to see you got CRT!

Also, I originally read your post while I was in the hospital with dd. It really helped to cheer me up. Thanks!!!! I love the play by play in calling in...and on your special phone!!! :goodvibes

Hi everybody. I will come back soon and respond to everybody. I have no time to get on here, I am so far behind on reading everybody elses PTR's it's gonna take weeks to catch up, or maybe one long rainy day.

My trip is paid off, money for the airline tickets set aside, money for food, (incase they don't offer free dining) set aside, now I have 5 months to save up for spending money. Yay!

Bo is coming out to see me this Labor day. I am more excited to see her right now than I am about Disney, that just shows how much I love my sis.

We are 5 months out from our trip, summer is so busy for me so the time is going to fly by. If I'm not at work then I am at my pool or out with my friend Ally, I can't wait for BO to meet Ally they will love eachother. Ally and I are booking our December 2012 trip this August. (nabbed another newbie!) Not sure if Bo will make it on that trip, I hope so but her hubby wants to go to the Bahamas. I say Bahamas Shamamas! Disney is so much better.

The operating hours for the parks, EMH's and parade and fireworks are out now and since we added the park hopper Bo and I really need the planning time this September, it looks like we will be getting our moneys worth out of that park hopper.

I have to work 4th of July so our festivities for home are taking place tomorrow into Saturday, we have tons of fireworks. I bought new tiki torches for the pool, new pool floats and and a new volley ball net for the pool. I plan to party all night and then Saturday will be my sleep until Sunday day.

I hope you all have a great and safe holiday weekend.

That's okay I have been off for a while too! We all wait for summer and for some reason it's always busyier in the summer than in the winter! Congrats on saving up all of the money already! YAY for spending money! I'm glad that you and your sister will have planning time come Sept and that you get to see her period! I hope that your 4th of July party went well! Yours has been the easiest trip report to catch up on!

i fell way behind, but i'm glad to see that you are still having fun with your planning. sorry to hear about your mom's health.

I don't know why I even bother to keep this thing going I don't have any time to post anything about the trip since I haven't really been doing much planning, but just for spits n giggles I will try and revive this thing.

I apologize to the early readers that I kind of dropped off the disboards, I will do much better once summer is over.

I have been picking up small things for the trip here and there, when I see travel size shampoo or body wash on clearance I grab it. I have some more goodies for our stockings, and I found another Kermit shirt for Bo.

This past week has been crazy. We had a storm come through on 7/22 and it did some damage. Our 200 (or more) year old tree in our front yard uprooted and blew over. It fell across the power lines and ripped the electric off the side of our house. The wires stayed live until about 2:00am so the road was shut down. It amazes me how people completely ignore the warnings, they would get out of their car and move the cones so they could still drive down our road, then they would see the power lines and realize, "Duh, the road is closed for a reason."

We had to get in an electrician to fix the electric to our house before Met Ed would hook up our power, but we had to clear the road and our drive way in order for anyone to be able to get in. We couldn't do anything for the first day since the pwer lines were live.

What did we do in the mean time? :confused3

We had a pool party:banana:

It was so unbelievabley hot and humid, the inside of the house was hotter than outside which was still sickening hot. We lit up the tiki torches Ally came over after work, Reese's friend Kate was already over and we played pool volleyball until 4:00am. We all went to bed at 5 but was up at 7 to start the clean up.

We finally got power back yesterday. Clean up is taking forever. Kent and Jim have worked and worked at it, but now we need to call in professionals as Kent only has a 20 inch blade on his chain saw and the tree trunk is as big as my car.

We need a new porch cause when the tree fell the roots broke the porch, cracked the concrete all the way up to the house and broke the side walk, it left alot of loose dirt under all of it so now our flat walkway is hilly, the porch steps were shoved back a foot. It's alot of work but our insurance is covering everything right down to the gasoline Kent puts in his chainsaw.

It's always important to put a positive spin on everything. Yes I will miss that tree and the shade it provided us. I will miss the humming birds that use to frequent it. But on the upside we have been wanting a new porch for a while now and we have firewood to last us through this winter and into the next.

Now of course I also always find a way to relate everything to Disney.
This particular tree I called my Disney tree. At night as the moon would shine through it it, the tree would take the shape of a ghost pirate ship, it reminded me of the ship in the POC ride at MK. I first noticed it back in 2006 after my frist trip to Disney. I pointed it out to Ally one night and she agreed it was a pirate ship.

I called Ally at work the day our tree fell. (she works 2 jobs in the summer) and she was heartbroken to hear that our pirate ship had "sank" She came over that night to help mourn our lost ship, we donned pirate tattoos and took a couple shots of Jack in honor of the tree.

As we floated around in the pool the half moon shown through our only tree left in the front yard and what did we see? We have a monsters inc tree now.

I wish that I could be as positive as you!

Sorry to hear about your tree... and all the damages done. Good to look on the bright side though. :thumbsup2

I would not worry to much about your PTR... I think everyone posts in spurts. You have more or less time and it affects how much dis time you have.

Sorry you lost a beloved tree. I feel your pain. In our old house we had a 200+ old tree that also blew over in a storm. No damage to our house but it did take out the garage! It was one of those trees that was a friend. I know that sounds weird but it was a great climbing tree and I used to climb it and read books by the hour in it. Glad you can find some positive in admist all the chaos.

As for the PTR, I'm with Ann. don't worry about how much you are on here. I think that once Sept hits and the reality of just how soon our trips are coming up.... That is when we will start posting like maniacs! Right now, it's mostly fun stuff. If you have lots of time later, great.... If not, oh well. I enjoy reading whether you post every day or twice a month. :goodvibes

I'm sorry about the storm making such a mess with the electric! And loosing your Pirate tree- but hey, you have now found a new Disney tree! And how awesome are you guys to turn a bad situation into a fun time with friends and a pool party!

I wish that I could be as positive as you!
Sometimes being positive is the only thing to keep me from crying. I still feel a bit of shock when I look out my window and don't see my tree standing there.

The tree had a great life, I'm sorry it's gone too but I have tons of pictures of my kids and my family in front of it, we'll always have those memories.

Once back to college is over the store will slow down and once October rolls in our bridal slows down too so I will be able to post more then not to mention I won't be spending my days off at the pool either.

It doesn't sound wierd to say your tree was like a friend, I do know the feeling I loved sitting out in the front yard reading a book and enjoying the shade of the tree.

I'm usually all over the PTR's, mine and everyone elses. this is the first time I haven't really had the time to do that. But fall will be here before we know it and you are right, there will be so much to post about then.

The pool party was so much fun, it's neat how unplanned events turn out better than planned events. I miss my pirate tree and I am trying to get used to my new Monsters Inc tree, I'm sure it will take some time.

A few new things to add to this PTR. First, we got free dining:banana: it's QS only, we chose not to upgrade but we still have a few ADR's that will be OOP.

I have been waiting since the beginning of July for that promo to come out, a few times I got nervous thinking maybe Disney would do away with free dining. But now that I don't have to worry about paying for my food, except for the ADR's at Crystal Palace and 50's Primetime all the money I save from here on out if strictly for shopping.:cool1: My share of the trip is paid off and I have my airfare money set aside. I have been buying Disney gift cards here and there, it's a guaranteed way for me to not dip into my Disney spending money, so far it's working great.

Bo is flying in on Sept 1st and I will have her until the evening of Sept 6th. since I didn't take a vacation this summer I am taking off everyday that she is here. We are going to plan out our Disney trip more thouroughly especially now since we have the park hoppers and FD.

The biggest news I have though is...............Ally is coming with us on this trip:banana::banana: We had planned a trip for us for next October, but I am thinking with Reese graduating this year, her grad pictures and grad party are going to be costly and Kent and I are considering moving so I'm not too sure if I could afford another trip so soon. I felt bad for getting Ally's hopes up so I talked to my mom and Bo and they both said they wouldn't mind at all if Ally came on our trip.

Ally was so excited when I invited her, I ordered her MVMCP ticket that day (it came in the mail yesterday) and I also added her to our CRT reservation.
I love her enthusiam. My Mom and Bo are excited but I see Ally everyday and she is just a bundle of questions.

Bo and Ally will meet this September, they have talked on the phone a few times and texted eachother so they kind of know eachother but really the two of them will get along great, neither one of them know a stranger, they are just fun funny people. Mom is accepting of everybody, she will love Ally and all her goofiness. At first my mom said she didn't want and whiney smokers on the trip. Ally doesn't smoke and she never whines. "She's just like ME mom, fun to be around and super beautiful."

Ally is a movie quoter, she doesn't just quote the movie though, she acts it out right down to the tone of voice and facial expressions.

So I will leave you with this, it's one of me and Ally's favorite movie quotes.

"I do my bum busters every night, I squeeze reeeeaaaaal tight...and then let it loose."

Have a good night ya'll.

Oh yay for another person and getting to spend a few days planning with your sister and Ally! You guys sound like you will have a awesome trip!

Oh Ty, how I miss you and your zani-ness (not sure if that's a word). Just checking in on your PTR. Update us when you get a chance!!!:thumbsup2

Yup, I'm still around. 69 days till Disney.

Bo came out over Labor day, we redid our schedule for the parks to include alot of park hopping, we don't want to miss anything...and now we won't.

We shopped, I took her to my store and we met up with Ally a few times. Bo and Ally got along great, I knew they would. Ally is not a shy girl and you would have thought that the two of them had known eachother for years by how they hit it off from the moment we picked up Bo at the airport.

Bo went with me for support when I cut my hair, I took off around 8 inches and got more layers. I thought I would miss my long hair but I don't. I will probably never go long again.

Bo Ally and I did a mock Thanksgiving dinner, the bottom line is Kent and I have been seperated for 2 months now and I mentioned to Bo that I don't know how to cook a bird, my kids are going to suffer on the holidays when I give them a hungryman turkey TV dinner. So Bo got the idea to do a trial run for me and showed me what to do right down to cleaning the bird and saving the extra meat and broth for soups later. The dinner was yummy and I think I will be fine this Thanksgiving.

Mom is recovering from shoulder surgery, she started her physical therapy today, it's a slow painful process but she is determined to be ready for Disney.

Ally and I have made some cute Disney hoodies, we got white hoodies and a bunch of pipe cleaner, we fashioned the pipe cleaners into various sizes of mickey heads then layed them all over the hoodie, then we used bright colored spray paint for clothes and sprayed them, when we removed the pipe cleaners it looked like a tye dye with lots of Mickeys. I'll get pictures and post them soon.

I wish I had more time to post here but I work about 6 days a week now and I tend to do nothing when I get home, plus the floods we had from the hurricane left us without internet for a long time, we've pretty much dried out now, we had almost 4 feet of water in our basement but we didn't lose anything except all of our potato's but I'm glad that's all that we lost, I can buy potatos and count my blessings that we made it through the storm.

my next update will be more Disneyish and hopefully have pictures.

Sounds like a very eventful couple months!

What a great idea with the hoodies!! I can't wait to see pictures. :goodvibes

sorry to hear about you and kent.
I agree, i want to see pictures of your hoody- and your hair.
