I gave away our sites for our cancelled Christmas trip last year and I remember someone being very happy to finally have a site available. Now I hope that if someone may not take their New Year's trip, they'll let me know!! We are trying to pick up Dec 31 and Jan 1st. We have the 2nd through the 14th. Please let me know if you are going to cancel so I can grab the site while it's available! THANKS!!!! Christy

Good luck we started back in Feb and still don't have ressies for Dec 29, 30 and 31st, but do have ones from 16 Dec to 25 Jan. It was O.K. since both our boys who are in the service and in Ca. were planning on going us and that is usually in the Jan time frame. However, the youngest just got back from IRAQ (actually a CVN over there) and he has to join us from probably around 22 Dec to 5 Jan since they are deploying again in Jan 2008 so I guess we're driving in from the KOA for those days.

We plan to keep trying even after we show up on the 16th since cancellations at the last minute are always a possibility.

Keep trying and perhaps try again and again during the day. I already held Dec 29 thru Jan 2 but wanted to extend the trip to start Dec 27. After checking like this for months, I was blessed to get reservations for a preferred spot for my dates of December 27 and 28. I just got these around 2pm on Oct 4 and I thank whoever gave them up!

Using this system, of checking during the day online, I also got two separate occasions for tent sites using the Dec 27 thru 29 dates. Needed a preferred site but my optimism increased that people were starting to release the dates they didn't need.

Larry, please thank your sons for all they do and may they stay safe. I hope that your dates open up soon.
