We walked how far? My very first trip report

Great pics, :thumbsup2 we love GG too, it does have the best character interaction & the food isn't bad either.

Day 5 (Wednesday, Nov 28, 2007): Fun at AK.

Today’s Plan:
Magic Kingdom (morning)
Animal Kingdom (evening EMH)

The plan for today was to get to MK for rope drop and spend a few hours there before lunch and then head over to AK for the rest of the day.

When we got up this morning, we all decided that it would be best to skip MK and go to the pool for a bit. While DH showered, I took the kids to the main pool. Once DH got to the pool, I decided to get my suit on so I walked back to the room, but took a detour to check out the quiet pool. There were only a couple of people there so I decided once I get back to the main pool; we will all head over to the quiet pool. We had the entire pool to ourselves and the kids at a blast.

After spending some quiet time in the pool, it was time to get ready for our lunch ADR at Whispering Canyon. Can I just say how much I love Wilderness Lodge? I would love to stay there one day. The food was very good, but we didn’t see any of the antics that I have heard about. It wasn’t that crowded which may have been why we didn’t see any antics. Hopefully, this year when we go for our dinner ADR we will see some or be part of some.

Here is DS for the pony race:

After lunch we did some shopping at WL before heading over to AK.

We got to AK around 3 and for some reason I thought the parade started at 3 so we made a beeline to the safari to catch it. Needless to say, I was wrong, but we did get our wristbands for EMH. Since we had time before the parade, we thought we would check out the line for EE. The standby line was relatively short, so the 3 of us (DH excluded) go in line. The line was so short that we still had time before the parade so we headed towards Dino-land to go on PW (twice).

Pictures DH took while waiting for us:

We caught up with DH and headed back towards the safari to get a spot for the parade. We got an awesome spot and actually met a CM at the concession stand that was from our area. This parade is vey unique and I would definitely try to catch it again.

Once the parade finally passed through, we made a beeline to the safari to get on one of the last ones for the day. We actually got on the second to last one. This time they didn’t do the whole poaching act. Not sure if it was because of the time or it they no longer do it.

By the time we got done with the safari, the park was getting close to closing time. The kids wanted to do EE again so we headed over there and got fast passes (the ones for EMH) and got in the standby line. Again the line was relatively short, so we rode it twice. I have to say that I think this may be my favorite thrill ride at WDW. Once we were done, I called DH on his cell phone to see where he was.

He was by Dinosaur and said the line was short. We got over there and the standby line was indeed short. This ride is amazing, however, the kids would not agree with that. If I was to buy any attraction photo, it should have been this one. DS’s head was in my lap and DH’s head was in DH’s shoulder. Needless to say, they will not be riding that any time in the near future.

We decided to give PW one more try before heading back to EE. I’m not too fond of PW, it is very jerky and I would recommend anyone with back issues to avoid this ride.

At this point we were all getting a little hungry, so we figured we would do EE and the It’s Tough to be a Bug. We ended up doing EE 2 times, because the lines were almost non-existent.

ITTBAB was hilarious and am sorry that I missed it on our last trip. DS got a kick of the stink bug. Disney seems to put a lot a detail and time in their 3D shows, because I haven’t seen one yet that I didn’t enjoy.

After it ITTBAB, we decided to get something to eat at Epcot. We figured we had time to get there, eat, do some browsing and still get a good spot for Illuminations. We ate at the Electric Umbrella. The food was OK, not bad, but nothing to write home about.

After dinner, we hit WS to get to the places that we missed yesterday.

We got a great spot in front of Germany (I think). As we waited, we could hear parts of the Candlelight Processional (one of the reasons, we are going to that this year). Illuminations was brilliant as ever.

When we got back to the resort, we found that Pluto and one of our webkins making themselves very comfortable.
