We Surround Them --- no bashing!!!

In actuality, "them" is anyone who doesn't agree with "us".

I liken all the whining, crying and carrying on to kids who were finally caught stealing the money and are now grounded and have to pay it back. They come up with all these doom and gloom predictions and try to get others to believe that they were doing the right thing all along.

The simple fact of the matter is that we've done it "their" way for years and America as a country and Americans as a whole now stand on the verge of bankruptcy. "We" are taking it back out of "their" hands. "We" will now have to do the hard part that every mother of any badly budgeted house has had to do: clean up the mess, cut back on treats that the spoiled kids got used to, and try to get this household back on a paying basis.

It won't happen the first year and may not happen the second year. But it WILL happen.

So whine all you want. Whining costs nothing.

Yup there is a lot of whining going on, but Im not so sure on who we all agree are the "spoiled ones" and what the "spoiling" means:rolleyes:

Like I said before:

I find it predictable (and I wish the Dems would grow a backbown) that the original package, the one I felt was the most productive one, was watered down by the Dems trying to compromise with the very same Republicans who refused to vote "yes" on ANY package out of sheer petulence.

Dems should never have tried to compromise. Lesson learned (I hope).

On the bright side, since the Republicans have set a precedent of taking the spoiled brat-bad loser stance, Dems shouldn't have to consider "reaching across the aisle" anymore. If the party line is going to be, "Wah...this isn't bi-partisan because they didn't accept ALL our ideas", then the correct answer to their behavior is:

Damn skippy it ain't. Now get the hell out of our way. We have a house to save.

I don't really know who Glen Beck is or what this thing is about but I do agree with all nine principals.

If you agree with all 9 you really should check out Glenn's radio and TV programs. He is on AM from 9am to 12 daily. Check out his website to find a station in your area. His show is on Fox News daily at 5pm. It sounds like you would enjoy it.

I think it is possible to agree and not enjoy glenn beck. The man has said he hates 9/11 victim families and had some cruel words for katrina victims.
He not very nice and has displayed unchristian like behavior.

Yeah, really! :worship: :worship:

What I find REALLY amazing is all the Republicans who told Arlen Specter THEY SUPPORTED THE STIMULUS PACKAGE, but were TOO AFRAID TO VOTE FOR IT because they though they'd face primary competition.

This is traditional. The Republicans are the "no compromise" party. Dems always bend over backward to reach out, but it's NEVER enough for them.

I let you have that right during the last 8 years, now it's time for you to let me do the same thing.
No, you did not "let" MushyMushy have that, or any right, at any time. Our government did, and does.

Why are you insulted by private citizens who believe in religion and say so?
Not by private citizens/religion; by one of the Principles being
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
Insulted? No, not really. Offended? Maybe. Disenfranchised? To the point of not caring whether the remaining seven Principles apply to me or not.

Yeah, really! :worship: :worship:

Right. Shutting Republicans out from late-night stimulus package negotiations was an example of the way Dems like to"bend over backward to reach out.":thumbsup2

Whatever the reason that Republicans chose to not vote for this monstrosity, I applaud them. Republicans can now lay the blame for this mess directly on the shoulders of the Democrats...exactly where it belongs.

They can use whatever excuse they want on Republicans. It doesn't matter. The bill passed.

The Dems now OWN this peice of crap.

And yet that hasn't stopped several Republicans from proudly touting parts of the stimulus bill that they slipped in on behalf of their constituents... that they didn't vote to support. the level of hypocrisy put forth by the Republicans is insane. They claim "this is not a bipartisan bill" without ever once stopping to consider that, with not a single one of them voting in favor of it, THEY are they party who did not play well with others. They had eight years to prevent the attrocious situation we now find ourselves in. The fact that others are having to step in and clean up their messes seems completely and totally lost on them.

It cracks me up that the people who were wrong about nearly everything for the last 8 years are wagging their fingers now. :lmao:

I liked Arlen Specter's comments that there were more Republican Senators for the bill, but they were too afraid to vote for it because they might face competition in the primary!!!!!!!!!!!

They thanked him for getting it passed without them.

Tells you everything you need to know about them.

Arlen Specter on the passage of the stimulus bill:

"When I came back to the cloak room after coming to the agreement a week ago today, one of my colleagues said, 'Arlen, I'm proud of you.' My Republican colleague said, 'Arlen, I'm proud of you.' I said, 'Are you going to vote with me?' And he said, 'No, I might have a primary.' And I said, 'Well, you know very well I'm going to have a primary.'

...

"I think there are a lot of people in the Republican caucus who are glad to see this action taken without their fingerprints, without their participation.

...

(When asked how many of his Republican colleagues really supported the bill:)
"I think a sizable number. I think a good part of the caucus agrees with the person I quoted, but I wouldn't want to begin to speculate on numbers."
