we stayed at Ron Juan Resort

Hi this is Shirley,
I am in the process to trying to get a number of back copies of Spacecost living for the month of January 2004 with the 25% discount coupon it also says if you call for information and reservations to call 888-933-3030 and mention code #300.
If and when I do receive these copies, will post and let you know.
You can stop by the shop and get them or just send me a self addressed envelope and I will mail the magazine to you - it does have a number of interesting articles.
Always
Shirley

They closed at 10 or 11 pm. I remember standing watching them close up. Its not all night.

Cheers,
Grumbo

I believe I read that the slide and lazy river close at dusk and the main pool closes at 10.

Shirley, Thanks for trying to get a hold of copies of the magazine!

To answer a couple of questions back up...the play area is free, as long as there is an adult from your party supervising. This is also where the daycare area is.

The slide is FAST - it is awesome, we were there the first day it opened. You do not take a tube with you, My 5.5 yr old was tall enough for it. She is 49" tall. She made it by an inch or 2.

Don't forget your shampoo....they do not provide it, everything else is, soap, dishes, towels, beach towels at poolside... (except coffee)

The slide closes at "dark" which is what I was told yesterday - there is no set time except "when it gets dark" since safety is their first concern. Also I haven't heard back from Space coast Living magazine, but the editor does go next door for exercising so I am sure that I will be able to connect with her sometime this week and if I can get them, you are most welcomed to them - it makes interesting reading. the new Publix is due to open this July and it will also have strip mall - Now what kind of shops will be there I do not know yet - also there is another small strip mall that is opening about 1 1/2 miles south of the Radisson on the West side - it looks like its going to be real nice also - Cape canaveral is "growing up and out" - traffic is unbelievable so be prepared to stop and wait as you venture out - We have a new restaurant accross from the Radisson which serves Sushi - norm and I loved it - I love their sign - it began with We Open Now and now it says open now. the servers are very friendly and food excellent. Well another progress report from Cape Canaveral.
Will keep ya posted as things keep popping up here.
much love
Always

Thanks Shirley for keeping us up to day on the happenings in Cape Canaveral! Keep 'em coming!

If checkin is not until 4:00, if you get there early can you use the facilities? What are the chances of checking in early?

Lomillerin- I have been informed by reservations dept at the Ron Jon Resort that you are able to utilize the pool area if you arrive prior to the check in time. This is a nice option for those who arrive prior to 4pm. I have also read a couple of reports where guests were able to get into their room prior to the stated 4pm check in time.

I actually called the Ron Jon Resort and spoke to Missy on Monday and mentioned code 102 (which is 25% off) or a code that I had from our local AAA magazine (according to Missy this coupon is only for 10% off)--I got a studio for $75.00 plus tax and I specifically asked her if I had to bring the coupon with me and was told no--my credit card was already charged for the room rate plus tax ($82.00). Just wanted to pass this along. I didn't mention that I didn't actually have the coupon just the code because if pushed for the coupon, I would have produced the AAA coupon.

I was also told that we could use all of the facilities prior to the 4:00 p.m. check-in and Missy also said that sometimes the rooms are available around 2:00 - 2:30 p.m.

If you stay at Ron Jons and have a car what do you do with the car while on the ship?

We stayed at the Raddison last time and found their cruise parking and shuttle bus very convenient.

How would we, and all our luggage, get to the ship and what would we do with our car?

Scotsman,
You would have to park youe car at the cruise terminal. I think it is $12.00 per day. By the way, I have lots of family who live in FLORENCE.

Teri

Scotsman,

We're booked at RJs in January and I asked the reservationist the same question. She said they DO allow you to park your car there during you cruise and don't charge extra for it.

Also, they have an outside vendor who serves as the shuttle (is it Travlynx???). You can book the shuttle through Ron Jons.

We cruised this past May and were also advised of the ability to keep our car parked at the Ron Jon while cruising. We opted to park at port as a personal preference.
