We stayed in a Studio for $97 using the code from Fl travel mag. We did not have the coupon and had not been told we needed one. No mention of coupon was ever made during check in. Pretty safe to say that if you weren't told you would need coupon, you won't. Don't know what policy will be for those who are now being told to bring coupon.

We checked in by 5pm and were disapointed to find out that the slide and lazy river close at 5 pm not at dusk. Turns out that we had a great time anyway. The wind had picked up and the air was a bit chilly. We took a dip in the pool for about 1/2 hour, water was warm. Kids then played in the Children's Play Center for 1 1/2 hours while DH and I took turns watching them. They loved it in there as did even older kids. Lots of slides ect. to blow off steam after traveling for 9 hour drive. We played miniature golf next and checked out their free movie theater. Game room is large and has two air hockey tables, one with black light glow to it.

Room was nice size for our family of four. Whirlpool tub was fun for the kids. Couch folded out into comfortable bed for DS. TV and VCR/DVD player in living area. Another TV for king size bed and ceiling fan. Bright colors of green, yellow and orange. Everything new. Dishes are the theme colors and bright. Major flaw is the drapes are not real so they don't close. Studios face courtyard and have bright light shining in. I had hard time falling asleep because of my excitement and the light. Loved our room besides that though.

We drove to Kelsey's to pick up a pizza to go. Alfredo with spinach for @ $10, very good. Ate in room while watching end of video they had been watching on trip.

Next morning, I walked out of our room (4th floor) and could see the Magic. I got all teary-eyed and had to take some pictures. We parked there for free for the week and I felt our car was safe there. Paying for the shuttle to port and back ate into our savings but it was nice to have the shuttle driver know just where to drop us off and he was there right at 9am to pick us up. No squabbles either as we were the only ones riding the shuttle both directions. I think Ron Jon's is a great option and would highly consider arriving on a Thurs. so you have all of Friday to enjoy the resort. A great way to start off your vacation :sunny: !

Strawberryblonde-
Thank you very much for posting about your experience at Ron Jon's . Really helps to pin down our itinerary. The time schedule is just what I was hoping for.

Thanks again for your thoughtfulness!

Tandy

Sounds wonderful!!!

Would you give me a little more information about the shuttle?

What did it cost?

Is it through Ron Jons?

Do you have to make reservations for it? How and when do you do this?

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the report. Now I really cant wait to stay at the Ron Jon!!

Also, could you tell us a little about the food there. It doesn't sound as though you ate at the restaurant but do you know the hours? Also, is there a convenience store or someplace where you can pick a few food items? We are flying in very late the night we stay there and will likely not be able to find an open grocery store.

Shuttle is not owned by Ron Jon's but they will reserve your time for you. $5 per person. Our driver showed up early on Sat. morning, around 10:10 am and was very helpful with luggage, getting us dropped off, ect. We were allowed to walk into the terminal before they had let the cars start dropping off. He was again waiting for us at 9 am this morning when we got off the ship. Travel Linx is the name, I think.

I don't know the hours for the rest. nor the store. They had all sorts of quick food at the shop. What I did though, was bring a box of cereal and a box of soymilk for our breakfast.

Here is some general info berly1657 provide on another post:

“Dinner was about $12-15 a plate, sandwiches under $9. The service was great - excellent. We didn't get to the resort until 9:30pm and they were still serving, they have a bar too…”

We're planning to stay @ Ron Jon's in July before our cruise.Has anyone stayed in the 2 bedroom units? Thanks Cathie
