When we announced that we would be moving a couple that we kind-of know called and wanted to look at our house. We procrastinated because we hadn't found a place to live and were afraid we'd be homeless! Anyway, we finally let them see it, they looked at it again, and then came a third time. Last night we agreed on a price! The best part is it's not contingent on them selling their house and they are in no hurry to move in and we can wait until just before school starts to move.
This afternoon we're meeting with the builder to finalize plans!:bounce:
We're moving back to where we came from so dh and I are really excited. The kids don't remember living there but they're coming around to the idea.

very good..and good luck...its not easy to sell your home on your own..so many details....but I hope it all works out well !!!

Congratulations! I hope you had a proper form drawn up and got a down payment of earnest money. Great to save the realor's fee!

Great job and best of luck in your new home!!

My D & SIL (in Seattle) recently had good luck selling theirs on own also.

They saw a personal add at the hosptial of a fellow nurses house for sale. They went to see it and fell in love with it! Got appraisal, loan approvals and the owners deducted the $20,000 realtor comm. fee they'd pay if it went on the market.

Now here's the kicker....
This seller and her hubbie were seperating, so he needed a house also!! Guess what?? He went to look at my D & SIL's house, fell in love with it, got appraisal & loan approval, signed the deal, also cutting out the realtor's comm.

How lucky can you get?!?! Everything worked out w/o a hitch!!
:smooth: Both parties got what they wanted, saved some serious $'s and are very happy!
Their banker said, 'they were very lucky as this does not happen often or is even advised.'

Best wishes,
~ Sandie

That's wonderful news! Congrats, and good luck with your new home!

Congrats! Glad you got a price you're happy with! :Pinkbounc

I had been thinking of selling this summer since last December. Found an area I really wanted to move to. In February or March, my next door neighbor sent me a letter asking if I might be interested in selling! :faint: Ha ha! He wanted it for his grandmother so she would be nearby. BUT he was literally looking for a "steal." But within a few days a realtor in the neighborhood I had called to just ask a few questions (and was soooooooo helpful even when I would have sold to my neighbor on my own) approached me with a buyer! The guy was the first one in to see it the morning after I signed a contract with the realtor. He was here at 8:30 a.m., had a signed contract with him by 10:30! :faint: Real estate just flies out the door these days. Same thing where I moved...they're selling the same day they're listed. Glad yours will work out! Woooo hooooo!...NO realtor's commission! WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I would just be sure to use a good real estate attorney!

The mid range stuff goes fast like that around here too, but the higher end hangs on awhile.
