We should SELL our term papers?!

This is all assuming one has old papers laying around that have good grades on them :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I don't want my DH to see this ad. He's always saying he saves stuff because he never knows when it'll come in handy  . He doesn't need any more encouragement :rotfl2: .

So if you can sell your term papers it stands to reason that I can buy term papers too. Geez I just finished school. You guys should be quicker with this kind of info, I could have saved myself alot of time. :stir: :rotfl2:

Just think how much this will help towards those student loans ;) .

Yeah, saw that ad as I was reading a teacher/parent bashing thread. Love the irony.

our sorority and most frats all had "filed" term papers and exams from previous semesters.....as long as there is no plagerism I see no harm in seeing what was previously done before you and what s expected to earn what letter grade. Professors aren't stupid and they use plenty of software programs to check for plagerism.

what about class notes? We had "Class Notes" and "A+ Notes" available for sale for those who didn't come to class!!

But, but, but...

They KNOW we're trying to save up for our next Disney trip and would do *anything* (cough, cough) to put more money into the trip fund!

Suzanne

(yes, I saved every darn term paper and NO, they're not for sale.)

Hey - this is the DIS, remember? ;) Home to those with superior intelligence......

I see no problem with buying and selling old papers and tests. That isn't cheating. Making crib notes off the old tests would be cheating. Copying the old paper would also be cheating. But it's not cheating to buy one and use it to see which direction to go on a paper.

ughhh my Dsis once tried to steal my old papers and use them  but not for herself, she would give them to her friends! Grrrrrr... she's not the brightest bulb out there :sad2:

i can't believe that was an ad!

College professors strongly advise against buying term papers. During orientation, they told parents the same thing they told the students:

Do not buy a term paper. We have search engines that we use to make sure a term paper has not been purchased on line. You will get a zero and go before the judicial board for an honor violation.

Note: at the College of Charleston, they have added a new grade, which reflects that the student has failed the class for cheating. The grade remains a failing grade, but after 2 years the cheating designation is dropped from the transcript if there are no further violations.

My dad is a college prof in a master's program. It's cheating to use someone else's paper or even parts of their paper, plain and simple and he WILL catch you and you WILL fail the course and possibly be expelled for academic dishonesty. Hunting them is becoming quite the sport on college campuses...Spell it with me:P-L-A-G-I-A-R-I-S-M. :cheer2:

Yeah, I think my "cutting edge" paper on Genetic Engineering from 1977 would be a bit dated, too.

maybeit could be marketed as coming from a 'retro perspective'.

Well I work at an ivy league university and have asked professors that I work with and each one of them says that it is not plagarism if the paper is cited in the bibliography or in the footnotes. It's just like using any other article or reference material when researching your paper.

I would like to thank these two companies for helping me to graduate from UF. ;) :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: I was actually friends with an owner of one of these "prestigious" companies. :teeth: Seriously, I just considered it another study tool. Sometimes I missed stuff, especially in economic and finance classes.

Well as somebody who used to grade Term Papers.

There are technically two types of Plagiarism - copying of exact words and copying of thoughts, viewpoints and conclusions.

Fully crediting the body of work you copied from does remove most of the legal defination of Plagiarism. However, most Professors would agree that a paper that contained little to no originality of work or intellectualism would definately be deserving of a failing grade.
