I noticed an ad on this board, encouraging us to go on to a web site to sell the term papers we got good grades on. Does the DIS have any control over who advertises here?

I was shocked to see that.

No, we shouldn't sell our papers.

Was it an advertisement or just a poster who thought it was a good idea?

link to ad It was at the bottom of the thread.

Edited - Nevermind. It changes all the time. :badpc:

Here is the text -

Sell your term papers
Remember those papers you got good grades on? Sell them now!

Oh, wow....now I know a good way to make extar money! :cool1: :rotfl2:

It was showing up at the bottom of THIS thread as well! :rotfl2:

I agree -- it's totally not cool.

That link sent me to Hyatt Regency website?

When you see an ad show up in Google ads that is of questionable nature, please PM one of the webmasters with the information. If it is not something that should be on the DIS we can make sure it gets out of the ad rotation

Eh, I don't see what the big deal is. If you are opposed to selling term papers then don't sell them :confused3

well i know when i tweaked and revised an old highschool term paper to submit for a college class on the same subject i got guestioned by the prof. about why my cited references were 'a bit dated'-so i can't imagine that the stuff i've got from 20 plus years ago would be very marketable now :teeth:

ROFL....a bit 'dated'

Yeah, I think my "cutting edge" paper on Genetic Engineering from 1977 would be a bit dated, too.

It is Google AdSense, it is crawling this page for keywords. Since Term Papers is the main thing in this thread it finds an ad dealing with that.

This is why we should choose subjects such as dead presidents for papers. Not a lot of new info. ;)

This is all assuming one has old papers laying around that have good grades on them :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

College professors strongly advise against buying term papers. During orientation, they told parents the same thing they told the students:

Do not buy a term paper. We have search engines that we use to make sure a term paper has not been purchased on line. You will get a zero and go before the judicial board for an honor violation.

Note: at the College of Charleston, they have added a new grade, which reflects that the student has failed the class for cheating. The grade remains a failing grade, but after 2 years the cheating designation is dropped from the transcript if there are no further violations.
