We Shared a SWW...and more! Done...At Home! (10/17)

All caught up, just in time for me to leave town & fall behind again! :rotfl: I'm kind of disappointed we didn't go to DHS for SWW now, but DH (who's the SW fan in the family) really didn't want to brave the crowds. Can't wait to read more!

Great update! Your pic with Walt...hilarious!!! Shame on that man!!!:lmao:

I had wanted to do the animation tour but ran out of time...I plan to put it on the to-do list for next time!

I have always gotten the cowboy....never the gangster! :)

all caught up with your trip details. The girls are so cute!! You all look like you are having the best time!!

Can't wait to read more.....popcorn::

I love this sign too! I like saying "Hey Ya'll....It says Youse Guys!" I draw out ya'll and get some very funny looks!! :lmao:

Welcome back! How was POR? I miss it so very much!!

We actually stayed at POFQ, but did make a trip over to POR to fish and ride a Surrey bike.

Vickie, :lmao: that man looking at your butt. And you thought you were too old for that.:rotfl2: I have to go see who that man is.

We have done the TGMR so many times and have seen the Cowboy...once! Did you see the hidden Mickey in the Gangsta scene? But you know, we have never done the Sounds Dangerous and still need to do the character drawing at Animation Studios. Sounds like a good day trip for me and the boy.

We were wondering what that stage was for in front of the hat. I remember someone suggesting HSM, but I was sure that wasn't correct. Glad you cleared it up for us.

sounds like a fun day!
i really want to do disney animation! how long does it usually take?

also did you stay in a 1bdrm villa? im asking because i thought there was a sleeper chair and the 2 girls were sharing a bed!

I love the pic with Oprah..too cute!

Were the Zebra domes the same ones they have at Boma or are they different?

The girls saw those busts, and it was their idea -- they both picked out Oprah! And yes, those are the same as Boma's zebra domes -- so if you get the QSDP, be sure to drop by The Mara and snag some!

I was really glad we did the SWW -- it's been the only special occasion-type of trip we've done at WDW. The feel of the place is completely different!

just read it all!
whew....

Hi, Burly!! :cheer2::cheer2: Thanks for taking the time -- I want to do those little "title posts" in the front, but don't know how to do them, and I'm afraid I'll miss something...it is a chore to get through someone's thread!! :rotfl:

:lmao: My DD noticed that, right after we took the picture! I wonder if the Imagineers realized the possibility?? And, it is usually a last kind of thing when we do the animation tour, but we LOVE IT! Every character has been different.

Idea: try to hook up a Dis-meet with Melissa, so she can get the cowboy when you do TGMR!! Either that, or maybe her "bad luck" can rub off on you!! :rotfl:

Hi, Dug!! (I can just hear that voice in my head!! :lmao:) Thanks for stopping by -- :flower3: We were so blessed to be able to take Natalie with us on this trip, and Jordan had a great time with her. Girls need to be girls... and they were a real treat! (Sometimes I don't know if I want to go to WDW for my DD, or for me!?)

I DIDN'T see the hidden Mickey!! Man, I hate that...now I'll be wondering! And as much as Jacob likes to draw, girl, you need to take him to that little class!

sounds like a fun day!

The class is about 15 minutes -- the way the instructor does it, even little kids walk away with an awesome picture!

We did stay in a one-bedroom -- I thought the girls would break it up with someone in the chair/bed, but it really did make it easier to get around in the room with them sleeping together. :goodvibes

Oh I knew it was POFQ...silly me!! The surrey bike sounds like so much fun. I now know I want more time to enjoy that resort! :)

We should try Vickie's plan and then we would have a 50/50 chance of seeing the "other" scene!! :rotfl:

We woke up and went to our second and last rope drop of the week! The girls were awake, but not very lively... :rolleyes1

ry%3D480

The sun was bright, and it was already HOT.

ry%3D480

The question is...where are we? What will be our 3rd park for the week?

ry%3D480

I was having a hard time getting the girls to be chipper...I don't know what time they went to sleep...

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Well, the excitement starts -- because we are at MAGIC KINGDOM!! :woohoo:

ry%3D480

I had never seen this show.

ry%3D480

It's Mickey & Pluto!! So exciting!!

ry%3D480

It's a MAD DASH into the park! I tell you, when they opened those gates, people were SQUEEZING into the corridors, inch by inch...strollers threatening to roll over your feet...handicapped people looking angry...I was glad to make it through the tunnel alive.

ry%3D480

There's the castle!

ry%3D480

I'm ashamed to say: we got Passport photos with all of us together, but I didn't get them. :( I be sad about that...but there are worse things to lose out on, I guess.

I thought it was kind of interesting how they covered up the buildings they were working on. Of course, there would be no loss of magic!

ry%3D480

I had my park plan in hand...we were headed for our target!

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

more to come...

You made it to MK rope drop!!! The girls didn't look too thrilled though! :rotfl:

It is a mad dash....you had better watch out...it is like the Autobon of Disney World!!

Here's where we were headed!

ry%3D480

The line was already REALLY long! My DH got in the FP line, and we got in the stand-by line -- who could say no to a 2-ride trip? ;) Let me say, don't be fooled by the really long line waiting to get in at the morning -- just get in that long line. It goes really fast. Soon we were in the building.

ry%3D480

We hadn't seen this new stuff before! Our last trip last year, we missed out on Space Mountain!

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Little games to keep you occupied...great idea.

ry%3D480

Okay, can I just say for the record that Natalie SCREAMED!! I don't know why she got the front seat, but even after that experience, she wanted to sit in the front seat for the second time! And you know how you can't tell where the heck you're going on that ride!

ry%3D480

Our next stop: Buzz!!

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Our mission:

ry%3D480

Buzz is always so serious!! His live-action animatronics really amaze me.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Me and DH -- he won.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

We love the easiness of the TTA:

ry%3D480

This is actually a smile. :)

ry%3D480

After this, we got some popcorn for a snack...and all of a sudden, it tried to rain on us. We stayed underneath the Astro Orbiter at the Lunching Pad, which was convenient. Afterward, we took a deviation from the park plan, and went where the girls wanted to go: to the Monster's Inc Laugh Floor!

What you are about to see, you cannot show to anyone else! :lmao: My DH started doing this, unbeknownst to me, or I would have said something before he was CAUGHT by the CM! Nevertheless, I must continue the unwitting deed, only -- wittingly.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

I'm sure you got a lot out of that.

Maybe this?

ry%3D480

Oops, Roz caught us. Guess I'm in DEEP, deep trouble.

ry%3D480

Guess I should end this post...and hide.

So glad you made rope drop at Magic Kingdom. I've arrived as it was going on, but was waiting on Jonas to arrive and didn't see much.

Funny, we haven't waited in the Space Mountain line yet, so we haven't been able to play the new games.

And I just realized, you didn't see the Hyperspace Hoopla?

Hmmm, so did they come get ya for the pics, make you erase the memory card?:rotfl: I know someone else with pics from the show, even has their Mother on screen, but not saying who that is.:rolleyes1

The Magic Kingdom opening show is my absolute favourite. We always make a plan to see it on our first day - even arranging our flights to make sure it is not a EMH day so we dont miss it! Just a great welcome to disney experience! Always gives me watery eyes for some reason too. Maybe its the smoke from the train! ahem.......:rolleyes1

It was wretchedly hot...they were miserable. The joy of being at Magic Kingdom, at the opening event, was definitely tempered for them by the weather.

It's funny -- we didn't want to join in the craziness of the mad rush, but when you're in the CRUSH of people, you don't really have a choice! :rotfl:

No... :( We didn't make it. I feel bad about missing the Hyperspace Hoopla, but I knew that the heat & crowds would undermine the girls' enthusiasm. We just took it easy, and enjoyed the park. I hope your survey answers about the event will be taken into consideration!

I was so embarrassed when Robert was caught taking pictures!! :headache: You know how you just assume everyone is aware of that no-no! I should have been watching him. The guy he got a picture of is the one that "reads minds" from a member of the audience. Those CMs must REALLY be on the look-out for those cameras!!

Awww...I would have LOVED to have started our trip off with that opening act...but it was not to be. I was as excited as I could be for the show, given the girls' apparent weariness!

This seemed to be a theme for the rest of our days, tho -- the girls would be somewhat lukewarm at the beginning of the day, and then after our afternoon rest -- RARING to GO! :lmao:

He really was caught? I thought you were just kidding. Was it with the video camera that also takes pics? I'm just wondering if they thought he was videotaping. I only say this, because when Mom was on the screen, I took pics and they had to have seen me. Very interesting, or maybe they are really cracking down.

I did notice fewer flashes on the dark rides this past week.

This was Monday, right? This was an awfully hot day, if so! It was so muggy!

I got caught once at The Great Movie Ride and I wasn't even taking a picture!! I accidentally hit the button and made the flash go off! I wanted to crawl under the vehicle! I was glad it was mostly dark!! :upsidedow

The poor girls! My kids are early risers so we are in a better mood in the morning...afternoon tends to be when we get these expressions!! :rotfl:

Spirits had started picking up (I think laughter can do that for a person). The little rainshower we had cooled things off a TAD, but the humidity...yeah.
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

The girls decided they wanted to ride the teacups. It wasn't my DH or my cup of...er, tea. At the time, the line wasn't an issue.

ry%3D480

My DH was innovative, and put our ponchos on the bench so we would have a dry spot, and we sat down to wait. I was amazed at the number of people who looked at us in annoyance, because all the benches were wet and we managed to sit down! :lmao:

ry%3D480

The girls done, we wandered around the corner and hopped on the Winnie the Pooh ride! This was the most extraordinary ride we have ever had on it. We must have stopped during the ride, oh, I'd say 6 or 7 times. Once, we came to a halt so abruptly, one of the moving pieces of the scenery (at Owl's house), swung backward and slapped the car! I managed to get some interesting pictures during this time.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

It became hilarious every time we would stop!! (Hephalumps and Woozles!!)

ry%3D480

I think we might have gotten FPs for Peter Pan's Flight (as the time had passed on Space Mountain FPs), and then headed over to Haunted Mansion! There wasn't any line, really. We just joined the people at the door, waiting to get in.

ry%3D480

My pictures all came out horribly, so I deleted them as I took them. Quite disturbing to the enjoyment of the ride!!

We threw this boy in the picture at the last second.

ry%3D480

Next, we were hungry. We decided to eat at our FAVORITE Magic Kingdom CS restaurant!! :woohoo:

I'm sure Robert was making sure this didn't happen

when he went to all that effort to sit on a bench.:rotfl2: Was that mean of me?:rotfl: Last year Robert tried to sit on the rail at the Teacups and fell over. One of those moments when your not sure what is going on.:lmao:

Loving your pics! And isn't it funny how we remember those crazy times on the rides. about the door hitting your car on Winnie. I bet the reaction from all of you was hilarious.

HM is a hard one to take pics in. Takes a really nice, expensive camera. I did get a few nice ones on our last trip, we were stopped in the dining room scene.

It is so hard to take pics without people in them at WDW. That pic with the little boy would be a great one for the "Is this you?" thread.
