And forgot our camera...hopefully the person who said he would mail a pic will! What fun. I took to it like a duck to water (I truly believe the skiing experience helped). We loved it so much, we have already gone over to Celebration and made ressie's for Monday to go on a one hour nature segway tour (the guy says it's a longgg hour!). I wish we had just done that instead (however the teaching at Disnwy was invaluable)..he spends a little time if needed showing you how to use it also. (For curious minds, it's $106.43 total for the two of us at the Relay store 407-566-0911). I can't wait. I have definately decided not to go to Disney again in the summer..we're hibernating in our cool room, as we wait for the daytime high temp to lower..although the rest was needed.

Relay is a store in Celebrations (the town that is near/built by Disney) that sells and rents Segways.

Not only does Relay rent Segways, but they offer a number of Segway tours such as a nature tour. They are located right in downtown Celebration, which is very close to Disney World. 417 takes you right to Celebration Avenue...take a left when you exit and follow the ave. downtown. Relay is right across from the lake. Or you can take 1-4 to 192 and then turn onto Celebration Place or Celebration Avenue.

Does anyone know if you have to be at least 16 years old to rent a Segway from Relay? My 15 year old is dying to try this!

fantastic!
thanks for the info.
we're doing the segway in epcot right before the cruise, but we could do the relay tour when we get back from the cruise...
i have a feeling the kids are going to want to do this again after epcot...
let us know how the relay tour compares..

Wow..the Segway tour at Relay was was better than the Epcot tour! We were on time, but the otehr two people going with us weren't so we did have to wait until they had their lessons (in fairness, he had originally offered to take us out by ourselves, later in the day, but we thought it would be cooler at 10:30 am). The other two came, had their lessons, and at 11:10 we were on our way. The tour was an hour and a half (advertised for an hour) and we zoomed (first at low speed, then the much preferred middle speed..not available at Disney) all over Celebrations. We went up and down the wooden bridges through the woods and past wonderful trees, including orange trees. In and out of neighborhoods.

The lessons (we watched) given to the two young men (maybe 14 and 15 ish) was very thorough and they caught right on. The "teacher" was very attentive and made sure we were comfortable before we speeded up. He says he advertises 18 and up, but will go out with 15 year olds. He said if we came back with our entire family in January, he had smaller segways the 9 and 11 year olds could ride.

All in all, it was way worth the money and we would do it in a heartbeat. We had fun at Epcot, but a ton more fun at Relay in Celebrations!

Glad to hear you're having a blast! I'd wanted to try out the segways, but I had 4 little girls with me this trip. Maybe next time! I just returned from WDW on Sunday and agree, it is very hot and humid there.

You didn't bring a laptop along so you could work now did you?

That is so great! We are doing the Segway tour in Epcot but may try the one in Celebration too! Thanks for the review.

ah..yes I did : ) I had to answer the emails about the stuff I put up on eBay the day I left LOL!

I wish I had known you were there, I would have loved to have met you.

We were at POR..had a perfect room, a perfect maid, and because of the trees, it was a little cooler than other places at Disney. But this will be our last June trip..what a difference in heat from our May trip! Luckily we had other plans when the skies opened up so often (and so long..what happened to the 15 rain??!!??)

So children age 10 could do this? Really? Is there a website with information?

Thanks!
