Just back from a GLORIOUS ten days in sunny, wonderful Florida and our first ever stay in OKW. After a perfect week in OKW in a 2BR, we purchased 300 points!
To backtrack, in 1991 we were staying in our bus in FW when the DVC was introduced. My husband was all for going on the tour, but I said, "Timeshare? No way!!!" Since then we've been to Disney many, many times, staying in FW, YC, BC, WL, and several off-property locations. This year, I had planned on taking our bus to FW again. A quick trip to Niagara Falls over Labor Day convinced my husband that he didn't want to spend our entire vacation in the bus with both kids. The bus is great for two people, but starts to feel small with 4 after a few days. Anyway, I got home and started investigating other options. I learned on Mousesaver.com about renting points, and bought a 2BR OKW from someone who was unable to use it. I felt a small amount of fear with the transaction, as it was an exchange through II, but once I had called DVC to confirm and they had all the information, I felt more at ease.
After making these reservations, I joined DVC talk and read this board every day. I learned that I had been quite wrong about this 'Disney Timeshare' and my husband really enjoyed hearing that he was right all along!
We checked in to 3022 last Saturday, and it felt absolutely wonderful. The entire vacation took on such a stress-free feeling...the music by the pool, the pina coladas, the spacious accomodations, two separate bathrooms, the tranquility of not having to listen to my children yell, "he's touching me" because they had their own bed, sitting on the porch and watching the golfers, the laid-back atmosphere...as my husband said, how could we ever go back to a regular hotel room now???
So...we made an appointment to check out the SSR sales office with Darren, and here we are, 300 points later, new owners in DVC!!!
