We missed the tree lighting...it was a scary day for us PARENTS PLEASE READ

I am really concerned over Disney's reaction to this. It sounds like an attempted abduction and it was brushed off? I really would get in touch with the press over this.

Mandy I am so glad everyone is safe and sound! What a horrible situation to have happened to you and the CM's should be better trained on how to spot things like the from happening. I agree with you that 'someone' was def looking out for you and all worked out in the end. I'm not a parent yet but I will always remember this story and make sure to keep my eyes on my children at all times, even at Disney.

Thanks for posting this...it is a good reminder.

That is so terryfing, every parents worse nightmare.

:grouphug: :grouphug:

Oh my goodness!!! I am so glad everyone is okay!!! As a mother of a 3yo DD, I got sick reading this.

Just a thought...does Disney have cameras in the parks? I would imagine they would. A CM/security should have looked into that. I don't know what they could do, but perhaps if they acted quickly they could have found the guy.

Again, I am so glad you and your DD are okay:grouphug:

Wow - thanks for posting this.

Another great reminder....I can definitely have a tendency to become complacent in my "happy place". Unfortunately, you can never be too vigilent.

I'm so glad to hear that in the end everything turned out all right ! I heard your story on the podcast and just felt that feeling of dread as you relived the story.

A sales rep that often came into my office has told some of us a few times about two of his friends that brought their two daughters to Disney in the 80s from Europe. One was carried off by a man when their backs were turned. A man sitting on a bench pointed and said, "Do you have a little girl who looks like such-and-such? A man just carried her that way. Run. I'll sit here with your other daughter". I can't imagine what that situation was like, and although I can't imagine trusting a stranger in that situation maybe adrenaline kicked in, and they ran for the other girl, came back and the other was gone too.

Hopefully things like this don't happen all the time, but just something to think about so it never happens to anyone else. I'm glad you and your family are safe this holiday season !

I would write a letter to Guest Services about this, even if you already reported it. Put exactly what you did here in your post.

Oh my lard! This story is worse than the first one. I think I'm going to have nightmares tonight. :scared:

I truely feel for you. I wish you a speedy recovery from this trauma. In January my then 3yo went missing inside our house. It turrned out he fell asleep in a hiding place. I was just about to call the police when I heard a snore.

Even though DH thought it was funny - I have never remembered screaming his name as anything but very scary. I would like to encourage you to continue the investigation - write disney - ask them to review the tapes - even call the police and tell them about it. Attempted abduction must be a crime.

BTW - thanks for the tip - we will definately stay away from that playground during our upcomming trip.

Ack! What happened to those two girls???

That is a very tricky playground, as far as keeping track of your kids go. I don't worry so much about older kids but I won't let the little ones out of my sight. They can go in one hole and come out of the other side of the playground. The good thing is that there is only one entrance and one exit. I usually have one person keep watch at the exit.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that and so glad that everything turned out O.K. It just takes one creepo to ruin the fun for the rest of us.:sad2:

That is terrifying. It was great that you found her. Thank God!

Wow. I am just so glad everything worked out. Yes, please pursue this with Disney.

We have a family member that was in law enforcement and has good contacts at both Orange county and Disney. We are pursuing this to see what happened before and after we found our DD.

My goal was to warn others and I hope you share with anyone with children!

Thank You all for your kind words!

Yes I agree- something about this is not right! Why was he carrying her and why was this grown man in a child play area alone, with no child????

We were there last week. My sister took my oldest to the bathroom and brought out this crying little boy. The FIRST thing I said is "Let's look for a cast member" No one in their right mind would try to carry off someone's child. And I would have gone off on that CM

Your post is so scary and such a sad yet necessary reminder to all of us. Sick & scary world we live in:sad2: :sad1:

Since the first time we set foot in them, I have always hated those two playgrounds (Boneyard@AK & Honey, I Shrunk the Kids@DHS...). I cannot tolerate not being able to see my little kids.

You can't tell me with all of Disney's fingerprinting, surveying and turnstile counting, etc., that they don't have cameras there. I don't know what the weather is like in FL in December, but a lone man in a hat & sunglasses with no kid in a playground spells trouble, IMHO. I pray that you a) find peace from this frightening ordeal; and b) if you are up to it, pursue the lowlife via the cameras.

I am so, so glad that you were in the right place at the right time, a true miracle, and that your little one is safe and sound with you.

Peace, and enjoy your Christmas miracle:goodvibes

Thank God you were in the right place to get your daughter back. Thank you for sharing your story. This is a great reminder to everyone never to let our guard down no matter where we are. Please keep us posted on any progress made with Disney and their response.

OMG how scary indeed! I am glad you heard your dd and that she is home safe with you!
