When I went to WDW in Nov. I was able to book a "bounce back" package with free DDP for August. The CM I spoke with would not allow the package to be booked for anyone other than those who were on that current reservation, (I believe this is how it was suppose to be enforced, but per usual, some were able to book for larger parties). Since that trip was a "girls only" extra, my DH and DS were not included. My DS will only be 2 in August, so no biggie there. However, my DH will be joining us. Should free DDP be offered to general public, I will have no issue. If it is not I will have 2 options...
1. Book a room-only w/AP discount for DH
2. Register my DH in one of our extended family's room (this will be our annual Grand Gathering)

Now in both these cases he would not be eligible for DDP, room only or relatives who won't be doing DDP (unless it is offered free). Can we just share with him at TS, as we all know there will be more than enough food. As I always do when sharing anywhere, I would surely tip extra. Or is this a complete and total no-no?

If your DH is staying with you in your room, the rules require that he be registered as part of your registration. That may subject you to rules and limitations that have secondary impacts that you may not like.

I suspect that this is something that you will have to negotiate with Disney directly, one-on-one, and ask them to consider making special exceptions for you.

Where are you staying and when are you going?

Depending on your dates, you may be able to get in on the 40% off that is being offered Aug 21-Oct 6th. Did you already call to request adding them to the reservation and they refused? I don't know why they wouldn't allow it if the room you booked allows 5 + 1 under 3.

at this point, I would just call and add him to your reservation. If they say anything about him not being eligible for free dining, maybe you could just pay for his DDP.

could this work for you:confused3

Is this open to everyone or do you have to have a pin code to book?

I would call and ask to add him to the reservation. I booked for September while at WDW in December and was never told that everyone had to be there who would be on the reservation. The reservationist looked at my room key and then asked for the names of the people that would be going. I understand that I have to be there at check in as I was the one there in Dec who made the reservation. At one point he forgot I already had 8 people and said oh you can add 2 more people later if you want. At least give it a try. I don't know who was correct but you have nothing to lose by asking.

was that sence we had two adults in our room we could book two rooms for free dining. I booked one and put me and my friend, not DH who was with me on the ressie and then last week we called and changed the date and had no problums. My friend might not go and so I might take my boys again, but they are not on there now so we'll see. Mum

When we booked the "bounce back" program, we were allowed to book one room per person at WDW at the time.

I booked a package for me and hubby at Pop Century with one-day tickets (he wasn't with me). My friend booked a package for her, her hubby, and our BIL, (neither of them were there) at Pop Century with one-day tickets. There is an extra adult charge and the third 1-day ticket charge on their package for the the BIL. Our BIL then booked a separate room only reservation for the same dates at AAA rate where he will actually sleep. The AAA rate room, plus the extra adult charges are less expensive than if he had been able to book the deal on his own.

We were told that even after we left, we could add extra people to the reservation and extend or decrease our dates as long as we did not exceed the number of folks allowed in the room, and all room occupants would have to be present at check-in.

Go ahead and add your hubby to any of the rooms with available occupancy.

You can add people to your bounce-back reservation. However, the name of the person who made the reservation (the primary name) cannot be removed or changed.

Last year, during the free dining period, it was required that all persons on the reservation be present at check-in because there were folks who would make up people and put them on the reservation just to get extra dining credits.
