To start off, first post! I starting planning for this trip in Dec12'. The wife and I decided to take our five year old twins for our first trip to WDW since before they were born. I started to research, and came across the DIS. I would just like to say "thank you!" to everyone. All the info i read about WDW the months prior to our trip, really got us ready. Kind of knowing what to expect let us just really enjoy our vacation.

First Day.

We flew in on southwest, direct flight. Kids did great for their first time. Took the M.E., and everything was smooth. We got into POP, check-in was quick. Besides the "first time" buttons for the kids, my wife got one because her birthday was a couple of days away. I got the DDP, and had made a ressie for Chef Mickeys. This gave us time to check in & walk around the resort. Shortly after, we hopped on the bus, walked onto the monorail, and headed for CM. I found the food "okay", desserts were very good. Do you know that CM is the only place to get chocolate covered Oreos? They were awesome! The character interactions were priceless. It was the whole family's first ever CD. The characters really take their time, and make sure they spend enough time with each table. I missed Donald, i was in the buffet line. I'm still kicking myself. We also had our first brush of "pixie dust" as our waiter brought over a birthday cupcake with a candle for my wife (she had the pin on). Going to the park the first day would have been cool, but not knowing how the kids would react to the traveling, we found the character dinner a perfect start to the trip. We decided to head back and go for a quick swim. However, it was not meant to be, as the ME had only delievered my bags to the room. The wife was not too pleased. I called and found out it was on it's way. Ended up coming about 9:00. I had read it happens sometimes. Why get mad? It eventually came, wife was relieved. Besides, that gave me and my son a chance to walk over to AoA. Wow. What theming. It was sold out when i tried to book in Jan., and i saw first hand why. Place looks great, from the pools (resort key only), cars themed area's, ext. I think I might stay there next time. Anyway, got our resort mugs, a couple of snacks, and headed for the room to rest up for day #2.

BTW, we loved POP. I had only stayed onsite once before (All Star Sports). We really loved the feel of POP. Food court is great (i think we got there first week they changed their menus). I will concur with many others, the tie dyed cheesecake is delicious. I still would like to know why the cooler that normally would have beer and wine was empty, while another cooler had a very limited selection. Also, many were right about POP not being too soundproof. You could hear toilets flushing, and you could hear people walking down the hallways. BUT, it did not bother my family. I think that really is up to each individual person. It really sounded like many other places i've stayed at. Also, we had first floor, 90's building. Really a 2 min walk to the busses.

The DW and I deemed the first day a success (thank god her luggage came that night lol). Maybe this won't be such a short trip report.....To be continued.....:wave2:
