The Garden Grill was a last minute ADR switch for us after hearing questionable things about Tony's. (Sorry, but some of you had me nervous.)

It was by far our best meal and experience during our 6 days on the meal plan. :thumbsup2 Thankfully, it was our last day. The other places we ate at would not have been appreciated as much after we ate there.

We had reservations at 11 when they opened. The waitress was super. The characters came by several times each and were great fun and my boys loved it. They did not rush my kids and really took time with us. It is smaller than many table service places and that was nice, too. Also, since we had a table facing out towards Living with the Land, we really only saw the people in our family. It felt very private.

The chef came by as my oldest is allergic to walnuts. Of all the chefs we ran across to talk about the allergy issues, he was by far the kindest and most accomodating. In the end, he got the Kadoozle (I think that is it) big swirl popsicles for my excited boys for their dessert. They were in heaven. LOL!

The food was fresh and very good--from the broccoli to the mashed potatoes to the flank steak to the fried catfish. (They serve homestyle and start you with a small portion of everything and then allow you to ask for more and eat all you want. They do have a limited menu, though, so you need to make sure you like the type foods they offer.) The dessert was super, too, but we were sooo full that we didn't eat much.

We'll definitely try them again on our next visit.

ETA We also enjoyed Sunshine Seasons several times.( It is in the same building.) We quickly tired of fast-food type places and both Sunshine Seasons and Garden Grill had some real nice options.

Sounds like you had a great time! I can't wait to try GG in a few weeks! And great to hear about the chef in regards to your son's allergy. DD is allergic to dairy.

:goodvibes

Is the garden grill rotating again? It wasn't when we were there a few months ago?

Yes. Rotating nicely.

My boys loved Living with the Land. The waitress told us that Chip and Dale are naughty at times and throw sugar packets at the boats. My boys LOVED that story. LOL!

My entire family loves GG. I like it too. it is seems secluded for your table and it is by far the quietest character meal. We love the food, atomosphere, the rotation, etc. BUT we have had terrible service the 2 and only times we have been there.:sad2: So it has not been on our list the last few visits.

Would you say service was good?

My wife and I ate there for the first time last week and it was a hit with us.

The food was great. My wife is picky eater and she enjoyed the food. We asked for the meats without thier sauces and it was given to us with all the sauces on the side with no problem.

The room was rotating and I was having some issues with it at the start, but once the characters and the food started coming I got distracted and didnt notice.

The character interaction was great. I am bald so each one rubbed my head (that's a pretty standard thing for all characters to do with me...). Chip stole my glasses at one point and my wife loved it. Each one hugged and "kissed" my wife and paused for all the pictures we wanted. It is just her and I, no kids, so we usually get a brief stop then they move on at other character dining spots. Not here though. We were there for one full rotation and had each charater visit us twice.

We booked the bounceback and are allready talking about eating there next year.
