We went for the first time and LOVED it. It was our first night there and took a friend of ours who is an MK CM. Believe it or not, she had never been there(has been to Luau though). She loved it too, and declared it her new favorite on property and plans on having her Birthday dinner there next month. Everything was hot fresh and delicious. The turkey was everyones favorite though! If you like grilled meats and non fancy but fun family atmosphere, you'll love it! If you are into fancy fru fru dining(not for us), probably not so much.

We love it as well specifically for the experience. The food can be hit and miss, and yes the restaurant can be loud, but we love the festive atmosphere. The kids get entertained which is fun to see. Others say it is a rushed experience. I personally like to eat at a decent pace. My WDW time is too valuable and the quicker we can get in and out the better; especially when I'm staring at the MK across the lagoon. :)

This restaurant gets so many differing reviews from excellent to people who detest it. It really comes down to persoanal preference.

This is our fave place. We love it!! We always make this our final dinner. We like to end our trip on a good high note. And this place has never dissappointed us.

We ate there just last week for the first time and loved it!!!!!!!!! I would recommend it and we would like to go back again. My very picky dd loved the food!!

Ohana is definitely not for everyone -- particularly those who favor a nice, quiet, at least semi-elegant meal to end the day -- but I absolutely LOVE it! :cool1:

Ohana is the first (and so far, only) all-you-can-eat buffet place where the buffet comes to you... and if you're as carnivorous as I am, those big honkin' skewers are heaven on-a-stick!

We haven't been there in a while (trying out other WDW places as well as being stymied by this @#*&^! dining plan making it sheer hell on earth trying to make reservations without it), but I certainly look forward to going back in the not-so-distant future. :thumbsup2

Glad to see more positive reviews of OHana! It's also out first night tradition - always a warm welcome!! :goodvibes

Glad to hear it was so good as we will be there in February.

Is it Mardi Gras yet?

Glad to hear it was good..........

We're also waiting for Mardi Gras to get here!!! Maybe we'll see you there, we'll be the one's in the LSU garb.......... :rotfl2:

We loved Ohana's too. We go about 45 minutes before Wishes and ask for a window seat to watch it from there. They play the music and dim the lights. You can see the light parade on the water as well. It is so awsome.

There are other all you can eat places that are family style like LTT and garden grill. Personally, I prefer after a long day of walking the parks to have the food brought to the table. Now my husband is another story because he doesn't want to wait for his food and would rather hit the buffett and fill his plate fast. lol

I'm glad to see some positive reviews of Ohana! We had a reservation there last December and I ended up cancelling it due to so many poor reviews. We have another ressie for this December and I've been reading bad reviews again but decided no matter what to keep it so we can decide for ourselves. Glad you had a good time!

Good for you! :thumbsup2

Reviews on message boards can be helpful, but sometimes there's just no alternative to deciding for yourself. You never know what other factors might have influenced the bad reviews -- someone else might have been turned off by something you might absolutely love (as I said, Ohana's not for everyone).

Best of all, you'll be able to write your own 'first-timer' review once you get back... positive or negative... :surfweb:
