...we did have some issues. We stayed at the Polynesian June 11-15. We've stayed there 3 times in the past 1 1/2 years. We love the whole feel of the resort and its always a thrill to drive up and tell the attendant we're checking in as the monorail cruises by above.
We love Kona for breakfast.
We love the tropical music outside.
We love the rooms.
We love the grounds.
We love the marina.
We love the quiet pool.
We love the boat to MK.
This trip a few things bugged me. At check-in (8:00 am) they put us in a patio room and I nicely mentioned that we really, really, would like a balcony instead as we had requested (not guaranteed-I know).in Fiji. He said there was nothing available. He said I had booked a garden view and Fiji was water view. I said I was pretty sure it was not (I knew it was not). He said it would be an upgrade but there was no availability. okay- So I asked for a few more locations Samoa -Tokelau and he said there was nothing. Oh then he found one in Tahiti which I didn't really want. So I just stood there looking at him in disbelief. I coulnd't bring myself to say we'd just take whatever room. Finally, another CM came over and asked if she could help. My CM said no. I said I was having trouble getting a room. She asked what I wanted and I told her my first choice. She pushed some keys on her computer and gave my my dream room Fiji- 3319. Why was that so difficult? Yikkes! She then apologized to my CM and said she had access to some things he didnt'. Whatever!
Another thing was that the pool bar wasn't open as often as I think it should have been. It's summer, it's hot, it's crowded, I want a Lava Flow and it's closed. Bummer. I also am always disappointed with the staff at Bare Foot Bar. This time they were just as bad. Why are they so annoyed to get you a drink?
The last thing was no big deal but I was wondering why you always have to call housekeeping for a fridge and then an overworked little old man brings it to you and you feel so sorry for him you want to carry it in the room yourself. ( okay , i guess that's just my experience #3 times.)
These are just our observations that I am reporting because I love to read when others report their experiences. While I think we are over staying at Poly, we will always love to eat and spend time there. (Well I might have to sneak in one visit to see the new rooms)
