We love Donald Duck, oh yes we do! - Link to the PTR - COMPLETE

What a great TOT story. We love that ride. My little man tried it last trip and said "mommy I dont like that elevator ride". I tried to talk him out of it but he insisted he was doing it and then was scared to death. I felt like a horrible mom for letting him get on. But I have the pictures to laugh at now that we are not in the moment. We too are trying to move to FL. We are just trying to sell our house which has been a huge challange. We have had it listed for nearly a year. Uuuuggghhh. We figure we can find jobs when we get down there. Healthcare is always open in Florida. he he he. Good luck if that works out for you guys. I cant wait to hear more!

Hey Brook!
WOW...how cool the idea of moving to Florida!! I never heard of house swapping before, but that's a pretty neat concept! Keep us posted, I hope it works out the way you want it too!!!!:goodvibes

How's our little friend, Henry, doing these days? Getting bigger by the minute, i'm sure!!!!

Happy weekend!!!!:cutie:

Very intriguing idea. I can't blame you for checking into it. You never know.

Hi Brooke!

I've been reading your report since last night- I'm on page 26- and I'm really, really enjoying it soooo much!! Your photos are amazing, you have such a great eye, and also such a great camera- what kind is it? Henry is absolutely ADORABLE, and I say this as a mom of 3 sons, so I am a little partial to cute little men!:goodvibes I love, love, LOVE his personality- and you are really wonderful parents with him.

But I had to write NOW (instead of when I'm fully caught up) because I wanted to say I can NOT believe that awful woman ran RIGHT OVER YOUR FOOT and didn't apologize!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1: This is absolutely appalling and I can't BELIEVE some people!!! I hope when I read on I hear that your foot is ok!

Anyway, thanks for thoroughly entertaining me, it's a fantastic TR!!!!!:woohoo:

Ellen:goodvibes

Ok...so now I have to post AGAIN because I just read about your pregnancy/birth of Henry. It made me tear-up!! So honest and so sweet. And I wanted to tell you- I had the itching with my 1st son, who is now almost 15. (Yes, it DOES go lightening fast!!:sad1:) Except when I had the itching, it was because my liver enzymes were through the roof and I had HELLP syndrome (which is basically toximia gone ballistic). That itching was :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: impossible!!!!

Ok- I just had to share...:goodvibes

Awesome update Brook. I was laughing throughout your whole TOT experience. That guy sounds like a hoot. What a nice couple. Good luck on selling your home. We really need a bigger house but I'm scared to put ours on the market and just be disappointed. Houses are just sitting here, not moving at all. It's very depressing.

So...last night, right around 11:00 PM Central I was writing a big long reply to everyone about the housing deal and all that...

I hit Submit and...

The boards were down. :headache:

I'm home sick from work today-just a nasty cold and taking it easy, so after my 4 day hiatus away from the DIS, I'm trying to catch up on all my subscriptions and I will make it back over here to update you! :goodvibes

How did I miss this?! I am here (just very late) and trying to catch up. Hopefully I will get some time to myself tonight...I have LOTS of reading to do. ;) Hope you are feeling better. Looking forward to diving in! :)

Can't wait to hear the housing update, sound interesting!

Also, just read your last trip update, your TOT ride sounded like great fun. Can't wait to read if you liked Beaches n Cream, we just love it, one of those things we do every trip. Looking forward to your next update.

Okay...since I took a very long time last night to reply to everyone, and then lost it due to the boards being down, and I literally have been laying in bed all day and reading the DIS (I'm THAT far behind on my subscriptions) and still not caught up, I am just going to do a mass reply right now about the housing situation...sorry...I hope to get back and do personals if time allows too!

Joe and I have been discussing leaving our small town and moving back to NYC since before I moved here. Our heart truly are IN the City. At this point, not any particular City, but a City-not a small town, not a suburb, but a big 'ol City. Which is generally the exact opposite of what most people want and expect. When people have kids, they move to the suburbs with a bigger house (at least here in Minnesota that's how it works!). We want to move from our distant suburb town and comfortable 4 bedroom new construction home, to an apartment IN the City!

Anyway, after some research into this area in Florida, and several discussions, each of us taking time to weigh it and pray about it - we have realized........

It's just not what we are to do.

*Sigh*

I so eagerly want to sell our house and move on!

BUT, I am a big believer in not forcing something to happen, it will happen in God's perfect timing.

So, no housing swap. No 2 hours from Disney World.

BUT, our house is back on the market as of today...YAY!

The woman from Florida and I have been chatting over email-she is incredibly kind and her husband has accepted the position as a Pastor for a local church. They were here in Jan/Feb looking at houses and looked at another house in our neighborhood, but not ours. Who knows, maybe this awesome family will end up buying our home?!

And, when we do end up in Minneapolis we will only be minutes away from the airport, and it's only a 3 hour plane ride to Disney....thats a whole 1 hour car ride closer...thats a bit better! ;)

Hi Jay! I just opened the link to your new TR today on my computer but haven't gotten to it yet. I'm looking forward to reading about your adventure with Stitch!

No worries on just coming in now-it's hard to read TRs and write one at the same time, AND have a normal life! Not to mention raising kids!!

Awesome update Brook. I was laughing throughout your whole TOT experience. That guy sounds like a hoot. What a nice couple. Good luck on selling your home. That couple was just awesome - they were so much fun!

Houses out here aren't moving at all either. In 6 months only 5 houses that are like ours sold in our town. And our town is COVERED with houses like ours. Hopefully our lower price and really really really nicely finished basement will entice some buyers!

Can't wait to hear the housing update, sound interesting!

My next update should be coming on Thursday - I have found a bit of a weekly update pattern and Thursday seems to be my day. :goodvibes

More personals later! I am feeling better than I was earlier today and should pull my heiny out of bed and do something around the house a bit. Gotta go pick up my little boy at the babysitters too!

Thanks for your quick housing update... I was curious to see what you thought about it all. So you guys are city people?? :) Must be you like the action. :goodvibes
I hope you are feeling better soon!

I hope your home sells fast so you can move to Minneapolis. It seems like a lot of people are interested in buying right now. I know 3 first-time home buyers who have bought homes in the last month.

I hope your house sells quickly, and you are able to move to the city soon. I am a city girl at heart as well so I totally understand!!! Hope you are feeling better!!!

Hi Brook!
Sorry to hear that you're sick but hope you're feeling better tonight!!! It sounds like you and Joe did a lot of soul searching and I hope that things work out well for you guys and how you want it too!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope you keep us posted!! I agree, things happen the way God wants them too and you'll find your way when the time is right. Good luck with your house sale!!!!:goodvibes

I hope you are feeling better today.

We all have our own tastes in everything - housing, clothing, music, food - and that's good, or else we'd all be fighting each other for the same things! I'm kinda glad everyone in the world doesn't love Disney World as much was we do, or it could make for some very loooooong lines! I'm a suburbs or country girl, so I'll gladly let you have the big city. I hate to even drive downtown for things, because the traffic makes me nervous.

I hope it all works out for you guys to be right where your hearts desire! Just be patient and let it come to you. You'll find the place that feels just right for you and Joe and Henry to live happily ever after!

Brooke-sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hopefully you will be able to sell soon. I know when we were looking for a house I was so anxious & wanted to settle for something that I really would not have liked & then we found the perfect house for us & it was meant to be. I'm sure everything will work out for you guys. We live in a "City" of approx 30,000 (that is a big City for NH :lmao:) but we live on the outside of the city in a nice development. I am the Tax Collector for the city (no flames please-I just take the $$$) ha ha..& my husband also works in town so not a lot of traveling. We just love it here. It really is still "country" to a lot of city people but the city we live in has grown soooo much over the last 10 years.

Any whoo.. best of luck with the sale of your house & I hope you find the perfect place for you & little Henry.

I hope you feel better soon, Brook! I was wonderng where you disappeared too! I hope all is well with Joe and Henry. And lots of luck with the housing situation. I'm sure it'll work itself out one way or another and you'll end up somewhere that makes you happy. I know exactly how you feel - I don't think I could ever leave NY!

Brook - great updates...I'm just now catching up as well as a nasty cold hit. Made it through all winter and then got nailed...hope you feel better soon. And I'm sorry the FL thing didn't work out, but I'm with you...everything happens for a reason.

I'm so glad Henry got to meet his idol, how fantastic...he looked like he was just so happy about it. Oh - and for all the time we've seen the muppets I don't know if I've ever read the boards, so thank you for that picture.

The guy on TOT sounds like a hoot - I've only been on it once, but was scared for real  don't know if I'll ride it again.

On a totally non-Disney subject....Lost showed a bunch of episodes this year that I referred to as "pop-up" Lost...had all kinds of tidbits that would pop up on the screen. Did they ever do that for any other season and any idea where I could fine them?

Brook, I hope you will find a buyer for your house soon! I can relate to you wanting to live in a city very much! I am not made for small towns or suburbs either. :goodvibes
