We love Donald Duck, oh yes we do! - Link to the PTR - COMPLETE

It sounds like you guys had a great day short of the sunshine seasons episode. I really have to try Spoodles. Those tubs are just amazing. That is what sold me on renting the villas. Plus the room of course. I must say I am not crazy about illuminations but I love the soundtrack. Makes me cry every time.

Oh yum! The bread and oil dip looks delicious. Much better than my Chicken in a Biskit crackers that I'm munching on. ;) Fabulous Illuminations photos!

That bread was soooo good - much better than my 1 WeightWatchers point popcorn too!

Thank you! It was a bit difficult to get good pictures, but I snapped continously trusting that at least some would turn out!

I will have to check if I can see your pictures at work on Wednesday. I have an extended long weekend.

Spoodles looks really yummy!! The hummus looks great and so did Joe's meal. Henry seems like such a cutie, even upset stomach doesn't get him down.

Wonderful Illuminations pictures! I love the ones with the people towards the bottom, I love that you get a feel for the crowd in them. :goodvibes

Ooooh, I'm jealous of your weekend! Our office is closed tomorrow. BUT, because I work at the Support Desk we are open. THE ENTIRE COMPANY IS CLOSED EXCEPT US! :headache: Makes me kinda irritated. I could probably get it off because I'm a lead, but I feel bad for my team, so I'm not even gonna try.

But, on a happy note - we DO get time and a half!

Spoodles was very good! I would like to dine there again sometime to try one of the actual entrees. Or maybe hit up breakfast...

I think the only thing that gets Henry down lately is the word "no" :rolleyes1 ;)

I like the ones with people in the bottom too - if they were wearing Mickey ears it would be perfect!

Brook, I have so much to catch up on!

The Poly is really beautiful and we loved it there! Your pics are wonderful! I agree on Kona breakfast, it is delicious. We really enjoyed our press pot there, too. But I have to warn you that the other sold at Kona and Kona Island (the coffe bar) is not 100% Kona, but Kona blendAlso, it looks like you took the monorail from the Poly to the TTC to transfer there. Did you know that it is an easy walk from the Poly to the TTC? Oh and to add some more transport info, you can also take a very lovely boat from the MK to the Poly (it also stops at the GF). We found this to be very reliable and an extremely pleasant way to arrive at the MK!!

I love your picture of the mosaic at the Land, the mosaics are so beautiful and I never managed to get a good picture of them.

Your magical moment was great, I am glad this lady came to your rescue. While it was just such a little gesture, it is so great when you get help from total strangers. It is nice how this will forever make an otherwise pretty bad moment in a good memory.

Sppodles sounds like a lovely dinner, we were supposed to eat there, but never made it because we really wanted to get something lighter that evening. It will remain a "first" for one of our future trips!

I also had a similar experience with Illuminations like you - first trip I was a bit amazed why it was so hyped. Second trip I just skipped it. And then third trip we had a great viewing location and I was thinking wow, this is actually really nice. Now this time on our fourth trip I started to think I might even like this as much as Wishes!! :scared1:

Oh, that STINKS about the coffee at the coffee bar being the blend! Is it still as good? Thank you for the tips on the transportation! I cannot recall us transferring, but we must have, huh? I'll make a mental note on that walking path, we like to walk when we can and enjoy the scenery. The boat sounds great too - plus we usually don't have to fold up the stroller on boats and Henry loves the view!

Yes, the moment with the Napkin Mom really was very special and magical. In the moment I was so grateful, but later when I thought back, it almost brought me to tears.

Spoodles was great! Everything was really nice, and the service was excellent. I hope your experience on your next trip is just as good! Do you have another trip planned yet?

My first Wishes experience was in December, which I believe had an added holiday bit to it. I was BLOWN away! So, this time when we saw Wishes (coming in a future update), I was a bit disappointed. It was still great, but I hadn't realized it was different in the holidays. The actual fireworks part of the shows tie in my mind, but I do like the Castle in the fireworks better than the globe.

What a wonderful update Brook!! Spoodles looks so yummy!! And oh my are your illuminations pictures gorgeous or what...I'm so jealous!!!! I love EPCOT I'm so glad you had a good day there!

Thank you! Our camera does great with night shots - which makes taking those fireworks pictures a lot of fun to do. We love Epcot too! I wish we had more time there, but we enjoyed hitting all our "firsts" too!

Spoodles looks A-MAZING. Definitely on my list for the next trip. I can picture H blowing kisses to everyone. Too cute. Sorry 'bout the "explosion" in his pants. :scared:

As always you and Joe captured gorgeous photos! I especially loved the little trip "home" to Beach Club and Beach Club Villas. Isn't it gorgeous! I was thisclose to buying resale and the deal didn't work but now I am anxiously on the look out for another contract to come up for sale!

The Illuminations photos are gorgeous as well. I love the fireworks with kids on their parent shoulders in the foreground. Just something about them seem so magical. :goodvibes

Oh and H is too cute in the bathtub. I love baths on any day but after a long day at the parks? :cloud9:

Spoodles was very tasty! I hope we go again sometime. Well, I guess I'm usually the one in charge of ADRs, so I can make that happen pretty easy.

Henry waving and blowing kisses to everyone was so much fun, we were laughing and he was hamming it up big time!

That is exciting about watching for another BCV contract! :yay: I hope you find one and get a GREAT deal!! We want to stay there sometime - maybe our 2010 trip.

I love those kind of pics too - it's so sweet. If they had Mickey ears on, it would be just perfect.

I agree with you about the bathtub after the parks! AHHHHH!

Spoodles sounds great! I've heard nothing but good reviews of the place, and we were thinking of trying it for breakfast on our next trip. We'll see. And great pictures of Illuminations!!! It's withough a doubt my favorite nighttime show at Disney and yours are some of the best pictures I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing!

Spoodles was very good! I have hear positive reviews of the breakfast too, from the pics I have seen it looks yummy!

Thank you for the nice words on our pictures! :goodvibes I really enjoyed Illuminations, it was a very beautiful and impressive show.

Another fantastic update... Spoodles is on a list of places I would like to try and am glad to hear Henry did well there. We had worse than a onesie bathroom stop at Chef Mickey's once.. I literally had to go and buy an outfit at the gift shop!

Ooooh, I understand about the outfit...(foreshadowing here....) :sad2: Just an ordeal! Always an adventure with a little one!

Man, I couldn't seem to get any good pictures of Illuminations when I was there (well I got a couple, but nowhere near that good.) I had better luck with Wishes, but for some reason I found Illuminations a bit more challenging (probably due to the lack of a big bright focal point in the middle of everything.) I had a nice spot in Germany though, so I got to see Illuminations going on here and Wishes off in the background at the same time.

Hope the gastric distress comes to an end soon.

Our camera does really well with night shots, plus I took them pretty much non-stop... Quite a few did turn out blurry, but I only kept the good ones! Wishes is a bit easier with the bright spot like you mentioned.

That is so cool about seeing Wishes and Illuminations at the same time! I'll have to store that in the memory banks for a future trip if they are supposed to go on at the same time!

Spoodles looks so yummy! Too cute about Henry flirting with everyone!

The pictures of Beach Club almost made me change my mind -- just kidding. :rotfl: Although I would love to stay there one day.

Illuminations! So beautiful!

Henry in the tub is precious!!!

NO CHANGING!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

I did take those pics with you in mind though! I was wishing it was daytime so more would have come out though...but it's probably a good thing it was dark and I couldn't get more pics, huh? Naw, I know you are SET on AKL! :goodvibes We want to stay at the BC sometime too, the location is awesome, and the resort really is very beautiful! AKL though, that's like an oasis - it's so beautiful and relaxing...ahhhhh, I can't wait to be there in December!

:wave2: Hello! I thought I'd come out of lurking and say I'm loving your TR, and Henry is super cute :cutie:. I'm sorry to hear about him throwing up though :crazy2: That's no fun, especially in Disney World! Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading more!

Hello! Thank you for reading, I'm glad to hear you have been enjoying it. :goodvibes The throwing up was nooooo fun. I was glad he was totally fine aside from that though.

Great pics Brook!! I especially love the ones of Illuminations, you got some GREAT ones!:thumbsup2 The pic of Henry is the tub is adorable! Looks like a great way to end the day! Hope you got to enjoy it at some point, too!!:goodvibes

Thank you! Henry looks so teeny in that big tub, doesn't he? It was just too cute with him in there.

And yep, I do get to enjoy that tub!!!!!!

It was a great day, the SS ordeal just makes it all the more memorable. :rotfl: The tub at AKV is what sold me on DVC! I gasped at it and was IN. They are just awesome, aren't they?! I want one like that in my house!

I can see why Illuminations makes you cry...I was focused on pictures, but I do recall one part where I almost started to get misty.

I really need to get some WDW music on my computer to tide me over between trips...I can then pretend I'm watching Illuminations, or walking down Main Street...ahhhhh...

Great night shots from Boardwalk and of Iluminations.
I think Henry might have a future in PR or talk shows. He certainly is a cutie!
Can you remember how long it took you to get back to SSR after the fireworks?

NO CHANGING!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

We are all set with AKL! I am sooo looking forward to it! Are you staying in Kidani in December? I will be sure to return the favor and take lots of photos for you, eat some zebra domes, and get a presspot of Kenyan coffee! :goodvibes

Great update! Epcot is so nice, I love Illuminations, I get misty eyed too! :lovestruc We bought the sound track and have played it so many times in the car... also put it on the iPod! :thumbsup2
The Boardwalk area at night is very fun, feels like a vacation! (you can tell we're used to Atlantic beach trips?!)

/
Love, love love the Illuminations pictures! :lovestruc It is my very favorite show, and as others have mentioned I have the soundtrack that I play often in the car and on my Ipod. I could hear the music in my head as I looked at the pictures - now I want to go watch my video! :goodvibes Your camera takes great night shots!

I've been away from the Dis for a long time, but I'm home from work today and caught up on your whole trip report so far. Your photos are great!

Great shots from boardwalk and illuminations! You are such a talented photographer.

Great update. Henry is so cute I can just picture him there being the door greeter for Spoodles. Also the tub looks amazing. I hope you got to relax in it yourself at least once! I am also glad the info. I posted about my middle dd helped put your mind at ease. We still watch her years later and she has the most sensitive stomach of all three kids.

Your breakfast review for Kona Cafe made me make reservations there for our upcoming trip! I can't wait to try the tonga toast! I haven't been to the Poly Resort in over 22 years, so that will be exciting too. Thanks for your great updates!

Sounds like a great day, aside from Henry's continuing tummy issue! Poor kid and poor mommy and daddy!

You Illuminations pictures are spectacular!!! Thanks for sharing!

Great night shots from Boardwalk and of Iluminations.
I think Henry might have a future in PR or talk shows. He certainly is a cutie!
Can you remember how long it took you to get back to SSR after the fireworks?

Thanks! :goodvibes Joe and I wonder the same thing about Henry sometimes! Or maybe a politican, waving at people all the time.

I don't recall how long it took us to get back to SSR after Illuminations...I just asked Joe too and he doesn't really recall. So that tells me it was probably bearable. But all week, I thought the bus service was a bit sketchy, esp. from DTD.

Excellent fireworks photos. I love that sweet pretzel too!

Thank you! That sweet pretzel was so so good! I think I liked it better then school bread even!

We are all set with AKL! I am sooo looking forward to it! Are you staying in Kidani in December? I will be sure to return the favor and take lots of photos for you, eat some zebra domes, and get a presspot of Kenyan coffee! :goodvibes

Sounds like you've got a perfect plan made, huh? :thumbsup2 We are staying in Kidani in December. THANK YOU in advance for the pictures! I am aching to see it. May 1 I'm logging onto the DIS for sure and scouring for pictures of people that are staying there opening day! I can't wait to see the pool area since it seems no one has been able to get pictures of that because it's on the other side of the building, away from the Jambo House.

Zebra Domes. Kenyan coffee. :cloud9: I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! (and I can't wait to read your TR from when you get back to live vicariously through you!)

Where can you buy the soundtrack? I just might have to do that too...

DH loves the BW area too - it's his #1 of places he wants to stay. It's really beautiful at night with all the lights reflecting on the water! I bet we would both love visiting Atlantic City sometime...

Thank you! Illuminations was spectacular! I look forward to seeing it again in December. I gotta take some video of all the shows in December to tide me over between trips, that's such a good idea.

I've been away from the Dis for a long time, but I'm home from work today and caught up on your whole trip report so far. Your photos are great!

Hey there! Good to see you! I hope you are home from work for a good reason and not because you are sick or anything like that. :sad2:

Great shots from boardwalk and illuminations! You are such a talented photographer.

Great update. Henry is so cute I can just picture him there being the door greeter for Spoodles. Also the tub looks amazing. I hope you got to relax in it yourself at least once! I am also glad the info. I posted about my middle dd helped put your mind at ease. We still watch her years later and she has the most sensitive stomach of all three kids.

Thank you! Joe took the ones of the Boardwalk - our tripod was part of the Beach Club dock! :rotfl2: I was really impressed with the quality of the picture.

Henry would be such a fun door greeter - I picture him still little with one of those giant Mickey hands on. :rotfl:

Joe has a bit of a sensitive stomach too (mine is like steel!), so I wonder if Henry inherited that. Who knows! I really hope this is the last vacation he gets sick on though!

Your breakfast review for Kona Cafe made me make reservations there for our upcoming trip! I can't wait to try the tonga toast! I haven't been to the Poly Resort in over 22 years, so that will be exciting too. Thanks for your great updates!

Oh, I hope you will love it like we did! I loved every single bite and sip. The atmosphere was lovely too - I think about that breakfast often. :cloud9:

22 years since you've been to the Poly!! Yes, you gotta go back and just soak up some of that beauty!!

Sounds like a great day, aside from Henry's continuing tummy issue! Poor kid and poor mommy and daddy!

You Illuminations pictures are spectacular!!! Thanks for sharing!

Ya, I felt awful for our little guy! I was thankful he was just normal aside from it all though.

Thank you for the comments on the pictures too! I was really happy that they turned out nicely - of course there were MANY that didn't turn out so good too.

I hope to get an update posted today. I have it all written, just need to find the time to insert the pics and pretty it up!

We left off with Illuminations and a little boy having a bath in a BIG tub!

Anyone notice Joe's menu yesterday? Tonga Toast for breakfast (fried). Fish and chips for lunch (fried). Steak kabobs and rice for dinner (good!), crazy chocolate espresso cake for dessert (sweets), with a chaser of a cappuchino and school bread....

Ya, he wasn't feeling so hot the next morning!

On the other hand, Henry was doing great! We avoided milk completely that morning and had no incidents! And the weather was BEAUTIFUL. High 60s, low 70s. Ah, finally. :cloud9:

Our agenda that day called for MK - and Joe still wanted to go despite not feeling well.

When we arrived at MK we slowly made our way down Main Street.

IMG_5988Small.jpg

And once again...

IMG_5989Small.jpg

Zero reaction to the Castle. He looks sleepy! Though, today we were watching videos on YouTube and one was a Disney video that had the opening for their production company with Snow White's Castle in Disneyland with the fireworks (you know what I'm talking about, right?) and Henry shot right up and "oooooh"ed! So maybe in December we'll get a good reaction...

IMG_5992Small.jpg

IMG_5995Small.jpg

IMG_5996Small.jpg

Joe had never noticed the little "side street" off Main Street and when he spotted it, he wanted to check out those shops and I wanted to take more Main Street pics. So that's just what we did.

IMG_5997Small.jpg

IMG_5998Small.jpg

This window display makes me want to have a second wedding!

IMG_6006Small.jpg

I loved this print! They also had one for each of the lands with the above character. I might have to purchase this in the future "for Henry." ;)

Pretty soon Henry was making it well known he was hungry, so we stopped at none other than

IMG_6008Small.jpg

!!! (I really am beginning to think I'm obsessed with it.)

Henry told me he wanted Corn Dog Nuggets, and he wanted to share them with me. Yep, he told me that ::yes:: ...what a nice little guy, huh? :teeth:

IMG_6009Small.jpg

Note the little hand in the picture going right for them...

Joe, again, opted for nothing. So far he hadn't eaten one thing that day and was feeling worse. We relaxed at Casey's for a while so Joe could rest,

IMG_6011Small.jpg

IMG_6014Small.jpg

I was excited that the piano player came out!

IMG_6015Small.jpg

Big boy!

I kept offering for us to just go back to the Villa, but he didn't want to, he wanted to keep going.

So, off to Tomorrowland to grab a FP for SM.

IMG_6018Small.jpg

I am already out of picture space!

Continued in next post

I love that print, too!! How cute, never saw anything like that before..might have to be a purchase here for one of my little boys, too!!;)

Mmm, corn dog nuggets, those look super yummy! Never been to Casey's before... next trip!!:goodvibes Love the piano player, that looks like a fun place to eat!!popcorn::

Continued from previous post

Then we wandered back around Main Street, taking it slow and just soaking in some MK and sun.

IMG_6019Small.jpg

IMG_6020Small.jpg

IMG_6021Small.jpg

IMG_6023Small.jpg

IMG_6024Small.jpg

We found ourselves walking into Adventureland

IMG_6025Small.jpg

IMG_6026Small.jpg

to check out the Jungle Cruise. This was a ride I had wanted to try, but we had missed it so far on both our previous trips to WDW.

As we approached the ride, I noticed the FP machines were all covered!! :scared1: :sad1:

Oh man! For some reason they were not working, and the wait time was over 30 minutes. That's a no-go with an antsy 1-year old. :sad2:

So we opted to get a FP for BTMRR instead.

IMG_6027Small.jpg

I was enjoying the wonderful weather and being in MK...Joe on the other hand was just getting worse and worse. He was not in the mood for any rides and was not having any fun. :guilty: I kept commenting on things and he would barely notice. Since his stomach was rumbling and hurting (a la AK back in November :sad2:), I said I would go on the hunt for Pepto for him - hoping that would help.

I wandered through a few Main Street shops and came up empty handed.

Then I had an idea  The Baby Care Center! Kids get sick at WDW all the time, they HAD to have Pepto. Joe chilled on a bench while I went in and sure enough, within just minutes it was in his hands. He took some immediatly and we sat on the bench to discuss what to do with the rest of the day:

-I wasn't having any fun because he wasn't.
-He felt bad because I wasn't having any fun.
-We looked through our plans for the rest of the day, the only thing we had was a lunch ADR for The Wave.
-Joe was still not digging the whole food thing, but didn't want to ruin the day for me.

I finally convinced him that I wasn't going to have fun with him not having any, so we canceled The Wave ADR, moved it to tomorrow (noooo problem :thumbsup2) in hopes he would feel better and decided to head back to SSR.

First, I asked if he could hold out to let me quick ride SM since I already had a FP and the window was open. He, knowing it was going to go under a re-furb soon, agreed - we (well...I) had to get in some SM! :woohoo:

IMG_6032Small.jpg

I just had to throw in this pic of the palm trees in Tomorrowland, I think the are really cool

My ride on SM was excellent, I just LOVE this ride! I screamed the entire way, as usual... I do think it needs an update, but I also like the 70s cheesieness of it at the same time. I really hope it doesn't get "ruined" with the re-furb!

After my ride we headed back to Main Street

IMG_6034Small.jpg

and caught these guys..

IMG_6036Small.jpg

they are the Dapper Dans, right? We only watched them for a few moments since Joe was feeling so miserable.

Back at SSR, Joe went straight to bed...

Up next: How long will Joe sleep?

I love that print, too!! How cute, never saw anything like that before..might have to be a purchase here for one of my little boys, too!!;)

Mmm, corn dog nuggets, those look super yummy! Never been to Casey's before... next trip!!:goodvibes Love the piano player, that looks like a fun place to eat!!popcorn::

All the prints for MK were really adorable. I cannot recall if they had them for the other parks as well...hmmm...

Those corn dog nuggets are GREAT! I can't say if they are better than any other corn dog nuggets I've ever had, but I don't know, just something about them and being at MK, sitting right near the Castle. It's just good!

The piano player was really fun, playing all sorts of little tunes. Inside they have "bleachers" you can sit in (and a few tables) with cartoons playing on a big screen TV.

Oh no, I'm so sorry how sick Joe was!!!! :sad2: I hope it didn't last long and you were able to pick back up later on. You guys aren't having much luck these last two trips with being sick.

Yay for getting to ride SM, at least!! And you got some great pics of MK while you were there. Poor Joe......:goodvibes

Oh no! That sucks that Joe got sick - that's no fun! :sad2:

Loved your pics of the Boardwalk at night - oh and you're sweet baby, Henry is just yummy!! :cloud9:

IMG_5879Small.jpg

Sweet pretzel for me

IMG_5882Small.jpg

School bread for Joe. Apparently the white frosting is back!

Yum.
Yum.
I would take either of them right now. :)

Henry looks like such a little thing in the tub, but he looks like such a big boy sitting at the table eating his corn dogs.

Your Illuminations pictures are awesome! I hope to be seeing Illuminations four weeks from tomorrow night.
