WDW has lots of rides we like - Pirates, Small World, Peter Pan, Soarin, festival of the lion king ...... the list goes on that are not roller coasters - I even screamed on big thunder mountain
I read the deluxe hotels at Universal are the price of a moderate hotel.
We could UBER to WDW for 1 day at MK and 1 day at EPCOT or spend 2 nights at WDW and the rest at Universal
Is there a list someone could give me of normal non fast rides or shows at Universal ?
Is there a web-site that lists calm non roller coaster rides at Universal

Thank you for any help
DH keeps on talking about going back to WDW = just the two of us DH & DW - but the prices are becoing out of reach for a week there
Maybe we should try Universal

While Uni does lean more toward thrill rides, they do have some things that aren't. Many of them are simulator type, screen-based rides. Some that I know are pretty mild are Dispicalble Me Minion Mayhem and Villain-Con Minion Blast, Fast & Furious: Supercharged, Hgwarts Express, E.T. Adventure, and Flight of the Hippogriff. I might also say Kong: Skull Island and Pteanadon Flyers (never rode that but it is geared for younger). There are also some Dr. Seuss themed kid rides, but I don't know too much about those.

If you can handle Soarin' you can probably handle most of the simulator rides at Universal. Universal is not Six Flags. There are plenty of things that are not roller coasters. I am a ride coward so I totally get your limits/preferences. I have always had a fantastic time at Universal Orlando. Also, this list is from a past trip and there have been rides that have opened since then that might work for you.

Here is my list of rides:
  • Minion Mayhem
  • ET
  • King Kong
  • Jimmy Fallon
  • Men in Black
  • Hogwarts Express (ride both ways if you have Park Hoppers, because it is different)
  • Suessland rides (Rides themed to Dr. Suess)
  • Forbidden Journey (this one might be a maybe depending on your likes/dislikes/tolerance)
  • Kodos and Kang
There are not as many big stage shows at Universal when compared to WDW. That being said, the shows are fun and enjoyable, even if some are one and done.
  • Blues Brothers
  • Horror Make-Up Show (it's not scary. It's a behind the scenes look at how they do monster make-up and other special effects)
  • Beat Builders (a bit like Stomp)
  • Harry Potter shows (there are two shows in each park, if you are a fan of the books/movies)
  • Bourne Stuntacular (I haven't been but I've heard it's amazing)

The Universal Studios app allows you to see information about each attraction and filter by Kid Friendly, Thrill, height requirement, and so forth.

In addition to the attractions mentioned above, if you can do motion simulators, you could probably do Amazing Adventures of Spider Man.

The Simpsons ride is a motion simulator that feels like a roller coaster at times but doesn't actually go anywhere (sort of like Star Tours).

The new Dreamworks Land is geared toward kids, but might be fun to visit. Its only ride is a coaster, but there are other interactive areas.

The Bourne Stuntacular is fantastic. We saw it 3 times in one day and still couldn't figure out how they did it! They intertwine real stunts with scenes that are amazing. It's well worth the trip just to see it, IMO. I hope you get to experience this when you go back to Universal.

I may not be able to do all the rides - I am in a wheelchair

Big roller coasters and otherwise definite no-gos:
Velocicoaster
Hulk
Rip Ride Rocket
Hagrids
Dr Doom Fearfall
Dudley Dooright flume

Most likely no-gos:
Mummy
Gringotts
Jurassic Park River Adventure
Flight of the Hippogriff
Trollercoaster
Forbidden Journey (maybe a maybe?)

Maybes:
Popeyes barges (you will be soaked)
Spiderman
Transformers
Simpsons

Yes:
Kong
Fast & Furious
Men in Black (spins)
Jimmy Fallon
Minion Mayhem
Villian-Con (moving conveyor from which you shoot arcade style)
ET
Hogwarts Express
Kang & Kodos (Dumbo)
One Fish Two Fish (Dumbo)
Caro-Seuss-el
Seuss Trolley
Cat in the Hat
Storm Force (teacups)

The Universal App will tell you which rides you can do in a wheelchair and which you need to transfer to the ride vehicle.

Another vote for the Bourne Stuntacular. It is really phenomenal.
Horror Makeup Show is not really scary, it's more funny and is definitely worth a watch.
Other good street entertainment as mentioned above, plus the parade, nighttime show over the lagoon, seasonal shows sometimes, the Ollivanders wand experience/show (short), some Seuss shows, and there is an animal show.

Meet and greets, especially the Raptor encounter. You can also catch lots of others regularly (Transformers, Seuss characters, Simpsons, Scooby characters, Marvel superheroes, SpongeBob, Madagascar characters, Shrek/Donkey, Hogwarts Express conductor) or less frequently (Doc Brown from Back to the Future, Beetlejuice, Betty Boop, etc). Other than the Raptor encounter & Transformers, the characters rarely have much of a line.

Really I just suggest downloading the App & perusing.

Universal is a totally different vibe than WDW. We love it and go every other year (5 park days). However, I will say that after a few days I do miss the WDW rides like Peter Pan and Small World. I feel like Universal doesn’t have enough “family” rides that are relaxing to ride. ET is probably the only one I can think of for that, aside from the ones in Dr Seuss area.

There’s less than a handful of rides at Universal my wife will do. Even those that aren’t roller coasters tend to spin or throw you around, or simulate spinning or throwing you around. They definitely could use some more slow moving rides with lots to look at, like Disney has. Or even a bit gentler simulator rides, like Soaring.

My sister and I decided to try Universal this year. We've been avoiding it because we were both under the impression that Universal was mostly thrill rides. But we we wanted to give it a try and this was one of the threads that I found somewhat encouraging.

After a day here, I will say that our initial impression was correct. Even though we sat in the stationary benches at Minions, my sister still got terrifically motion sick and was nauseated for most of the rest of the day. I wasn't feeling so hot afterward myself. Although I wouldn't describe the giant screen in Minions as out of focus, it's not in sharp focus, and I have a difficult time with visuals like that.

The only ride we did after that was the Hogwarts Express (we did both directions), which we both enjoyed and which didn't induce any motion sickness.

However, we were not willing to try any other motion-simulator-type rides, especially since the Minions thing was touted as one of the milder ones. We also didn't go to the horror makeup show, which I'd been looking forward to, since there's a warning outside that includes strobe lighting, which I cannot stand. And we missed the Bourne Stuntacular because after the Minions, watching something that had a lot of movement seemed out of the question.

Perhaps this is unnecessary to say, but we don't do heavy-duty thrill rides. Big drops and coasters that turn you upside down are not our thing.

Overall, I have to say that Universal is not for us. I'd made a color-coded list ahead of time, showing rides we definitely wouldn't do, rides that were maybes, and rides that were okay.

Three of the okay rides were water-based rides, which we love, but it was quite cold today--in the 40s and 50s--and the prospect of getting soaked was off the table (or the deck!). Perhaps we'll come back for a day in warmer weather.

One thing we really like is the resort. We're staying at RPR and it's very nice here. Apparently a clock in the room and drinking glasses made of actual glass are possible to have in a hotel room even though WDW can't manage these niceties. And this room costs a heckuva lot less than a Disney Deluxe.

And as a final note, Universal is not a great place for a vegan, which I am. Yes, there're vegan food choices here, but many of them are lackluster or just plain horrendous (the scrambled tofu at the trattoria at Portofino was 98% salt and 2% tofu--inedible). The vegan hot dog I had at Citywalk was so bad that I couldn't eat it and the mediocre french fries I had with it were edible, which I considered high praise after several terrible meals.

The only great vegan thing I've had here is a vegan donut from Voodoo Donuts. Now that is really excellent. But woman cannot live by donut alone, even if she wanted to.

I look forward to having some steel-cut oats with raisins and soy milk for breakfast tomorrow at POFQ.

But I'm glad we finally tried Universal. We've been planning to do this for years, so it's good that we finally did.

Almost forgot: I walked through Hogwarts tonight, although riding FJ was out of the question. And both the exterior and interior were very impressive.

This is billed as a behind the scenes Horror experience, but it's actually a comedy show and it's VERY good. Another really great show is Animal Actors on Location.

We watched this for the first time in Nov - it was really cute! We ended up watching it twice - a lot of the animal actors are different between shows.
