Morning everyone.
Well, as you will see from the ticker, we set off tomorrow, driving down in the evening. We have a 6.30pm Eurotunnel booking so should be there 10-11pm.

The weekend away from the normal routine will be a welcome change, as well as the fact that we will be in DLP of course. And it has been over two months since we were in WDW, so starting to miss the atmosphere.

I do have a couple of concerns though, firstly, the lights and pillars all being removed from the village. It seems like this is going to take away some of the atmosphere. Perhaps the Christmas Market will make up for it?

Also, I am sure I saw photo's the other day of Main Street and there are no arches this year. That will be a shame too. Is this correct? If so, does this mean no snow ?

Anyway, just got to get through 2 days in the office, then jump into the car tomorrow night : destination DLP !

The Christmas market isn't in the Village this year - it's outside the gates to the 2 parks. When we were there last month we thought it was nice and spacious in the Village. I would bet 100% that it'll be packed like sardines in the Village this weekend so you will need all the space you can get!!!! :rotfl:
The arches are down in Main Street but personally I think it's a big improvement. They were beautiful at night but looked cumbersome in the day (only my opinion) and the chandeliers are absolutely beautiful by day and night. There is still loads of snow falling on Main Street (don't know where it comes from though!!! ;) ) and you do have an unrestricted view of the castle without the arches. I'm sure you'll love everything and have a wonderful time!!

Thanks for the info. Yes, I can see that the arches being removed would be a good thing. I love the view down Main Street to the castle. The snow did come from pipes alont the top of the arches, but perhaps they have it along the tops of the buildings now or something?

We are not too worried about crowds or queues this time because were only in WDW a couple of months ago. And of course, since then, we found out my wife is now pregnant. This rules out quite a few rides for her, so it is more about soaking up the Christmas Spirit more than anything else and just enjoying the weekend away......hot choccy out in the cold and other such wintery things all make it a great place to be.

(I will be sneeking on Mission Space though, haven't been on it since it became Mission Space 2 and am dying to see what has changed).

Most people who have seen the new chandeliers have been won over by them - even ardent fans of the arches!!! Hope you like them too!

Have a wonderful time!! :Pinkbounc

How dare they!!!!!

I liked it in the village :(

I was dissappointed when I heard that the arches were not there this year, but everyone so far has loved the new chandeliers. I will see in 5 days. Also, they have new lights in the village, like balloons. Doesn't look very impressive but I'm sure it's better "live" :goodvibes

The snow is comming off the roof of the buildings on main street this year.

Thanks guys.......only 5 hours left at work, then it's home to pack the car, then off we go !

Tick-Tock Tick-Tock Tick-Tock Tick-Tock <---------- Clock watching !!!

MANY MANY WISHES to your wife and to you , of course !!!!

HAVE A MAGIC CHRISTMAS TIME at DLP !!!! I'm sure you'll make wonderful sweet memories !!!!
