we leave in 3 months

Since we never took our kids out of school to go on vacation we have been to WDW during August in 1988, 92, 97, 99 and 2000. We used to go around the 3rd week of the month. Crowds already started to die down because lots of schools were back in session. In the lat few years we gone during May, Sept Oct Nov and Jan. I would much rather be in 90 degree weather than the 50's we had in Jan.
Have fun!!

Here is another idea for beating the heat.

Plan your day around air conditioning. A lot of the Disney attractions are actually fairly cool - Epcot in particular is filled with big air conditioned buildings. AK on the other hand is HOT and doesn't offer a lot in terms of relief. So plan to do your "hot" things early morning - get out of AK at noon. If it takes two mornings, it takes two mornings.

Restaurants are air conditioned - so if you are going to bother to eat sit down at all, a late lunch in the heat of the day is a great idea. Its cheaper than dinner, too - and you can spend the most crowded part of the day in comfort.

Bring your own mister fans - which will be very nice while standing in hot lines.

And I'll have to agree, when you are melting from the heat, keep in mind that 50 in January isn't any better - at least you can take advantage of the pools.
