We leave in 16 days - staying at WL. My kids say they would like to stay at another place. I went on line and there is something available. Should I split our reservation? Or do you think this will mess everything up? I have not received my ME tags yet. They said to expect them around June 1st. What should I do? Part of me says - change - it will save money. But we only go on vacation like this once every two or three years? Help :confused3 Sorry to be rambling - I kinda would like to try another hotel also. We made these reservation with a travel agent. Should I contact her or do it myself. SOOoo many questions. Thanks for your help. Have a great day. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I am a big fan of splitting stays! Our last few trips we have been splitting between two resorts. We start with a Magic Kingdom resort and then switch over to an EPCOT resort. (EPCOT is our favorite park and that is where we like to finish our vacation) My kids are 6 & 10 and they are ok with splitting - they love the different resorts and especially the different pools. :) We will be doing our wildest vacation yet this august - 3 resorts in 9 nights. (2 at the AKL Lodge, 2 at the WL (1st time) and then 5 at the BWI. It is something I have always wanted to do so we'll have to see how it goes. :)

If your family will be ok with it then I say go for it!!!!

We just got back yesterday from a 7 night stay at WL and had a wonderful time! It was our first time staying at WL and we will defintely stay there again. The boat to the Magic Kingdom was fantastic. We also used the water shuttles to go to Fort Wilderness for the Hoop-Dee-Doo and to the Contemporary for Checf Mickey's. The kids (5 and 6) loved the water slide and at 3pm there are kids games in the pool, we were only around 2 afternoons at game time, but they had a blast. The kids went to the Cub's Den one night while we had an "adult night" at the California Grill and they had a blast. They called it their club. I give WL two thumbs up!

It may depend on the age of your kids (mine are preschoolers), but IMHO, it's a HUGE pain to change resorts in the middle of the stay. I like to unpack once and pack up again right before we leave. I feel like I'm wasting time moving to a different resort. We've had to do it once (from the Swan to OKW) due to unavailability of rooms at the Swan since we booked so close to our trip.

I would not do it again unless that was the only way I could stay on-site for the duration of my trip.

Where would you want to change to though? To save money you would have to go to a moderate or a value and none of them are close to any parks and all rely on bus service - if that is the case and you are this close to going, I wouldn't change. For 16 days though it might be nice to do AKL some nights to see the animals - if your kids would be into that. It prob wouldn't change your price but it would be a different adventure - new pools, new restaurants etc...

Also, even though Disney doesn't move the luggage for you here, but if you have a car - I may consider the Dolphin since it is probably the most affordable Epcot resort. The boardwalk area is lots of fun and being a boat ride to Epcot and MGM is very nice too!!

If you truly wanted to downgrade to save money, I would say maybe the Port Orleans resorts since it is a boat ride to DTD and you can enjoy 2 resorts. You didn't say how old your kids are though?????

Thanks for the input - just decided to stay where we are. :teeth: Alot less hassle - after all we are on vacation. Thanks again :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Just my opinion but if it saves you money and it's something you also want to do, I would split the ressie up. Disney will move your luggage for you (as long as you are moving to another Disney property). Just call bell services and tell them where you are going. We split our last stay between Coronado and POFQ. We were very happy that we did. Also, since you did book through a travel agent, I would think that you should go back through them to make the switch. Good luck! :flower:
