So we just got off the phone with a man who was happy to inform us that we had just won a trip to Disney for a Family of 4.
He declared that he had just pulled our name out of the ballot box, a slip that we had filled out at a local mall, and weren't we excited?!?!
Except (as you can see from my ticker) we are leaving to go to Disney tomorrow...
And the other issue of us never having filled out the ballot to be entered into the draw,
Or the fact that this free trip would only cost us $3500 in taxes and admin fees.
Or the fact the number he called is less than a week old.
Or the number that he called us from was 0-123-456-7890
He got very upset when we declined it. Almost demanding that we take it.
He asked "what are we going to do with this trip if you don't take it you won out of 2500 entrants!"
So we suggested they pull another name.... but that wouldn't work either apparently .. all the other names were instantly incinerated because who wouldn't take this deal....
Be careful folks.. this scam is far and wide.. it's amazing how many people would think the $3500 is a bargain for a weeks vacation even if it was a real vacation (which i doubt it is).
There is another scam where they indicate they are calling from your cable company... a friend of ours fell for this one... although it was only for $2500... her "travel package" was a photo copy of a Sears Travel flyer with circle around a value resort package. Of course, when she called them back, the number wasn't in service.
So we are going to leave tomorrow on our REAL vacation that we worked hard for and earned the old fashioned way
