We returned on Thursday night after staying 6 nights in a 2 bedroom villa. We were in the Millers Road area in villa 2032. We really liked it. It was on the 3rd floor with a view of the quiet pool. I requested to be close to HH, but I also asked for a refurb so this was the closest. I really LOVED our last two locations across from HH, but this was not bad. The bus ride was kind of long coming back from the parks since the Millers Road was the next to the last stop but it was great for leaving to the parks. On Tuesday I accidently left my camera at the bus stop on our way to HS. I just knew I would never see it again or have to go to the main lost and found, since it was probably given to the bus driver, but luckily someone had turned it in to the resort front desk. YAY

One night my dd and I along with our two friends ate at Olivia's for dinner and LOW AND BEHOLD....their special was the buttermilk fried chicken. OMG it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. I had heard about it. YUMMY. Truly enjoyed that. :)

The park crowds were LOW in our opinion. We had very short waits every day we went to a park. Sometimes we didn't even need FP for the most popular rides. :thumbsup2 IT was great. I have ALWAYS loved our Jan. trips and this is one of the reasons.

We had a great trip, loved OKW for the third time and hated to leave on Thursday. My dh told me that he could go to OKW and never go to a park...just relax, hang by the pool, go to DTD and stay at OKW. :goodvibes

Now it is time to plan our next WDW trip................. :cloud9:

Glad you liked it and had a great time. You came home to some yucky weather though.:sad1:
Have not been to OKW and have heard mixed reviews about the refurbished rooms. Glad they worked for you.
:thumbsup2

The furniture is dark (would prefer something lighter) and the contrast of colors is different but we like OKW as a resort and the beds were VERY comfortable from the old ones. The blinds over the doors are a pain to pull up, but nothing that would cause us to NOT stay there. I think someone else posted about the refurb a few weeks before our trip and I was very concerned that we would not like it, but it was fine and we had a great trip.

Old Key West is beautiful inside and out!!! We were in a refurbished villa for a week in Dec. and a week in Jan. We loved the new very comfortable king bed and the new chair bed. All the new floors, rugs, counters, paint, refinished furniture, tv's, lamps etc. where very refreshing and beautiful.
Welcome Home!!!

We just returned last night from our TWO week trip at OKW. We had booked HH location, so was pleased to be in building 12. We spent more time by the pool than we ever have during a January trip. It's amazing how quickly TWO weeks goes by. This was a nice and relaxing trip for us. No need to plan the next one as we have the next 3 already planned! Ugh, seeing snow from the plane last night as we landed in Dulles was a trip back to reality! OP welcome home neighbor. We found the crowd level during our trip to be extremely heavy on some days and empty on others. It was strange and we never knew what to expect. One day at DHS we walked on TSM and there were still FP at 3:00 in the afternoon. The next time the wait was 60 minutes at openning and never was smaller after than and the FP were gone by 10:00AM. Crazy.

Our 12 year old son rode Rock and Roll 6 times straight on Tuesday afternoon. That was after already riding it several times in the morning. LOL TOT was also walk on all day. Now Toy Story still had a 60 min. wait but we used FP for it. We went to MK on Wed. and rode everything multiple times. Even Thunder MT. only had a 20 min. wait for short period with SPLASH being down for refurb. Most times it was 10 min. We had a great time in the parks.

I will sometimes get off at Peninsular and walk, and generally pass by the Miller's Road stop before the bus does. Depends on how tired I am.

We were there also in building 46. Arrived last Friday and checked out yesterday. Our 1st time there and will definitely go back there if the opportunity allows.

We came back on the 23rd after a 10 day stay at OKW, some parks were empty and some days you couldn't move. There were large tours from Brazil and if you hit a park when they were there you mind as well just leave and come back another day.One day my wife and I were walking over to the haunted mansion and there must have been about 400 of them following flags walk up and get into a huge line. My son said several groups were on space mnt. and the wait was 2hrs 45mins.

We arrived the evening of the 21st and started park days the next day. we noticed a few tour groups but not as many as we used to the last few Jan. and summer trips. I think they were winding down their trips maybe. :confused3 We had great park days.

Maybe, we didn't go into the parks on the 22nd or 23rd, but earlier that week it was hit or miss with the tours.

standing by "town" looking at HH area....is building 12 the one all the way to left.
Looks like the most quiet and private if it is the one I am thinking?

Glad that you had a great week. We too were at OKW in a 2BR in January for 6 nights. After my wife parents left, we transferred to VWL for night nights. We loved OKW. Last year we were in one of the old 2BR units, and we love the new look. Last year everything was too pink, and we liked the renovations and more comfortable accommodations. We hope to go back next January as well, but we have to book at 7 months because our home resort is SSR.
