We just joined the DVC at BLT!

I'm so excited! I had been putting the DVC bug into DH's ear for a few months and he agreed to do the tour thing on our trip this past week. We did the tour yesterday and he was very pleased...so we are buying our first DVC points at BLT. YAY!!

I'm so excited and told him that this is the best Christmas present he could have given me.

We did all of the paperwork there at Disney and they said our closing date is 12/26....do I have to wait until after that date to book or do anything with my developer points? We are thinking of possibly renting those out since we don't know that we'd be able to use them before they run out, but I don't want to attempt it until I know we are good to go with making the reservations or whatever.

Is there are thread here somewhere for BLT people?? Anything good I should know about DVC ownership?

You can call and use your DP's now. When I received my paperwork from my recent AKV add-on(just a couple of weeks ago) I called Quality Assurance and the Lady told me when I hang up I could call MS and make a ressie. I called as soon as I got off the phone and made my ressie @ SSR using my developer points. Since you did your paper at Disney you were probably already in the system that same day.

Also, call MS and ask for your pin to access the member website. If you wait for them to send it to you in the mail it may take several weeks. When I did my master contract in Sept. I called a few days later and got my pin.

Congrats, we also purchased our first DVC membership at BLT last week while on 7 day trip at Wilderness Lodge. We are supposed to close on Dec. 25th (what a great Christmas day present). Our developer points were available to us almost instantly.

We also just closed on our first DVC contracts! We signed all of our papers on Saturday 11/29. They didn't tell us our actual closing date, they only said our DPs were available IMMEDIATELY. I will be renting those out, so I am watching all of these threads for advice. I have rented out timeshares before (at the Atlantis in The Bahamas MANY times), so I'm familiar with contracts and payment issues.

I can't wait to get to know DVC better!
