You can also pay your annual dues by credit card if you pay them in full rather than monthly. Re: purchasing DVC by credit card, you're right. This hasn't been discussed as much recently. When I bought in to DVC last summer, it was mentioned in a lot of posts. Even those who need to finance have done things like pay with a credit card (to get the rewards) and then use a home equity loan to pay off the credit card right away.Boda said:One piece of info I didn't pick up from this board that made me happy was the fact that I was able to put the purchase price on my credit card. The 13,000 points on my Starwood card gives me a free night or two in a Westin or Sheraton, which largely makes up for the slightly higher price with Disney compared to resale. Of course, this only works if you are not financing.
Some people use their Disney VISA card for their DVC purchase because you get 6 months at 0% interest for up to $2500 and you get reward dollars you can use for just about anything at Disney. You can apply the reward dollars towards your resort bill, use them to pay for meals at restaurants and you can apply them towards your annual dues! Some people use their Disney VISA as their main credit card and accumulate enough reward dollars over the course of the year to pay a good chunk of their annual dues!
