Hi Guys!
I just booked our room at the Wilderness Lodge for next year and I had to share my excitement!!! Although we go every year we have never stayed anywhere except the All-Stars, so this is a big "jump" for us. With this trip we will also change from going during Spring Break to going in June. Might as well change everything huh?? My boys and I toured the WL when we were there in March and we absolutely loved it, so I promised them we would stay there on our next trip if at all possible. For all you WL experts are there normally any discounts for our time frame June 4-12?? The greatest thing would be a promotion like the Fairytale Package that's going on right now but I couldn't be so lucky!!! Thanks so much for any info and for letting me share my excitement!!!

Carla

Now you've done it LOL! Congrats!!

Those boys are gonna have a blast on the mouse boats!:D

That's fantastic!!!! I can't help you with WL but I am sure you will have a great time!!!!

I know, we just booked our first deluxe (WL as well) for August. We usually stay at All Star as well...

I know we are really excited

Once you go Deluxe you won't want to stay anywhere else.

The Contemporary and Polynesian are my favorites. I want to try the WL or AKL, but just can't live without monorail access.

I'm sure Disney will offer some kind of promotion for that time period. Probably after the new year, something will surface! But, congrats on your booking. Your DS's will love the resort. You may want to request bunkbeds though. They are a real hit with the kids, and it offers you more walking space in your room.

I just booked a few nights at AKL concierge and Monday I'll book the rest of our trip at the Dolphin. My trip isn't until the end of 6/04 and I'm so stoked I can't stand myself!!!! I don't know how I'll get thru the next 387 days!!! I pity the people around me..

I'll be looking for your posts here on all your plans!!

airhead(calm down.....)

MickeyEars,

Have a wonderful time at WL. We have stayed there two times and love it. We decided to try AKL this time and I know how exciting it can be.

It is great for parents with children you want to keep a eye on but give some freedom to because when you are at the pool the game room and food court is right there. We never had to worry about our niece and nephew one bit!

How exciting! I am sure you will love it - it's such a beautiful property!
I have heard the boat to MK is very convenient too. Congrats!!
Have a great trip! Dont you wish it was this June? LOL!!

Boy, are you in for a culture shock!!!! Our first trip was to Dixie Landing (POR), fantastic....first class for a moderate. Second trip, only 6 months later because we were going through withdrawl, was to *** ( whooooo, that looks bad... All Star Sports). We had to carry our own luggage to the room in the pouring down rain. I asked at the desk, "When will our luggage be delivered?" You should have seen the look I got!!!!! They might has well have said, "What the *%@# is wrong with you? This is a value resort." LOL. Next trips were to the AKL and then the Poly. Man, what a difference.... I am surprised the AKL staff didn't offer to come "tuck" me in at night!!!!!! Enjoy your trip... it is money well spent...

I am hoping to upgrade from POR in September to AKL. I have never stayed in a deluxe resort and I am too excited at the prospect of having a first class room:D POR is a beautiful resort, but the rooms though themed, are average.

MickeyEars,
Congratulations on booking your first deluxe. You will be in heaven. Last June and this June there were "room only" discounts. We had a courtyard view for $145 a night and upgraded to concierge for an additional $35 a night at check-in. If I remember correctly standard view was $119 last summer. My friends are there now and I believe they are paying either $135 or $145 for woods view. Keep your fingers crossed for great deals like that next summer!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and for sharing my excitement!!!

mouseketeerwannabe,
Thanks so much for the info on the discounts. I paid the deposit based on this year's rates which was $239 plus tax for just a standard view, so just the thought of possibly getting anything close to the rates you mentioned makes me sooooooooo happy!!!
Thanks again for the info.

airhead,
I will also watch for your posts. It's nice to have other people to pass the time with!! How will we ever make it??

AspiringCindy,
I called CRO back after reading your reply and requested the bunkbeds and you are so correct, my boys 13 and 10 will love them. Thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks again everyone!!!

Carla

We have always stayed at AS's. With the comeback rate we booked AKL concierge for Sept. .......YEAH !!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Only problem is....now I'm getting spoiled. I'm already trying to figure out a way to convince dbf to let me book POLY on the GOLD PLAN for next year.

Cross your fingers

In August of 2002 we got a standard room for $129 plus tax. We were upgraded to courtyard view free. The WL is great. Request bunk beds for the boys they will love that plus no fighting in bed at night.

This will be our first time in a deluxe as well. Going on 7/20. We've stayed at ASM,POR, and CB before. This time we have reservations at WLV. It's very exciting!! Room only codes are usually out for the time you have scheduled but, you never know when disney will through a curve!! Have a great time!!

Definitly go on the water mice! You can cruise into the main lagoon w/ views of the MK, & all of the monerail resorts!! You may want to ask for the water pkg when you get there. The boats are pretty pricey & with three people it may be a better deal for you! Just a little suggestion! Have fun!!!!!!!!

It's no wonder I love the DIS sooooooo much, it's because of the people like you with all your wonderful tips and well wishes!!! I don't know how I will be able to stand waiting for our trip. Thanks again!!!

Carla

Can anyone tell me when the "room only" discounts for June (2003) became available?? I'm trying to get some idea of what to expect for next June. I will be watching this board often that's for sure!!! Thanks!
